Senior Legal Counsel -2200044R **Applicants are required to read, write, and speak the following languages**: English, Spanish **Preferred Qualifications** **The Role** ORACLE COLOMBIA is looking for a diverse and inclusive Legal Counsel based in Bogota to work for the territories of Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela, providing legal advice for ORACLE COLOMBIA’S LOBs across such territories. Counsel will report Directly to the Director of said territories. Primary responsibilities include drafting and negotiating multiple complex private and public sector on-prem licensing, cloud, professional services, hardware, education and related agreements to help achieve ORACLE COLOMBIA’S business goals and growth, while maintaining ORACLE COLOMBIA’S ethical codes as well as complying with local and international applicable laws. Also, to support with ORACLE’s Corporate matters. Experience in the IT industry, either from the procurement or sales side is highly recommended. **EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS** - Support ORACLE COLOMBIA’s corporate business goals and objectives by serving as a true business partner, balancing legal risks appropriately against the commercial objectives whilst ensuring compliance with all relevant policies and procedures of ORACLE COLOMBIA. - Understand the legal, regulatory and/or policy requirements to ensure they are met. - Provide proactive, in-depth, business focused advice and counsel, with minor supervision, and in a cordial and timely manner. - Effectively structure, draft, redline, and negotiate with customers’ complex terms and agreements including cloud agreements, software licensing, professional services, data processing agreements, hosting and delivery policies etc. in support of ORACLE COLOMBIA. - Provide holistic risk assessment and suggest creative solutions to create long-term, mutually beneficial relationships, balancing legal and business risk while protecting the company. - Working cross-functionally with sales, finance, and operations teams to ensure that contractual terms are compliant with legal, regulatory, and company policies and risk preferences. - Work closely with internal Sales, Deal Management, Business Practices and other cross-functional and regional relevant teams, during the drafting and negotiation process. - Anticipate and maintain up-to-date knowledge of current laws relevant to ORACLE COLOMBIA’S business to provide strategic advice and foster compliance. - Assist in handling various field and corporate legal matters, including but not limited to, bankruptcy, privacy, compliance, IP and claims management. - Assist in negotiation of contracts for different lines of business, and support in a variety of transactional and corporate governance initiatives. - Provide legal training and counsel to non-Legal teams to enable stronger legal acumen across the company. - Assist with special projects as assigned. - The ability to integrate legal, business, technical, and practical analysis, and a high level of motivation, are essential. **Education And Skills** - Pre-grad from an accredited law school in Colombia. - Specialization on any private law branch, public procurement law or administrative law. - LL.M. - Existing law firm and in-house experience. - 100% Fluent in English. - **Ability to prioritize and manage workload independently.**: - Hands-on, customer centric, confident, autonomous, self-motivated and must enjoy working within a changing and dynamic organization, able to work under pressure and strong enough to stand own ground. - Strong interpersonal, leadership and communications skills. - Excellent/Fluent English language skills - written and oral. - Excellent time management and organizational skills. - Ability to provide timely responses to client base, providing sound legal advice with appropriate business perspective. - Able to influence colleagues at all levels of the organization. - Strong communication skills - written and oral. **Work Experience** - 5-8 years of appropriate professional legal experience after pre-grad graduation. - Experience in providing legal counsel to sales teams. - Experience in providing legal corporate advice.
