**ABOUT THE ROLE** We’re looking for someone who thrives on precision, clarity, and calm. If you love a tidy aging report, a balanced cash flow sheet, and inboxes that don’t spiral out of control — this role is for you. Butter Freight is a growing freight brokerage built on trust, powered by action, and committed to making logistics feel smooth. We need a sharp, detail-obsessed accounting professional with **freight brokerage experience** who can also support our founder with light executive and operational tasks. This is **an accounting-first role** with a heavy focus on the financial processes unique to logistics. You’ll own AR/AP, cash flow visibility, and documentation — with direct experience handling **factoring relationships** (TriumphPay, Denim, etc.). You’ll also help the founder stay focused by managing time-sensitive reminders, renewals, and key follow-ups. **WHAT YOU’LL OWN** - Manage all freight-related accounting: invoicing, AR/AP, reconciliations, and cash flow reporting in QuickBooks - Own all factoring company interactions — TriumphPay, Denim, etc. — ensuring clean documentation, correct terms, and smooth payouts - Monitor and follow up on aging receivables weekly - Process carrier payments with 100% accuracy and proper documentation - Manage the founder’s calendar, inbox, and time-sensitive reminders - Track deadlines for licenses, insurance, domain renewals, and contracts - Maintain organized SOPs, digital files, and vendor records - Escalate or delegate issues appropriately — nothing lingers in limbo **WHAT MAKES YOU A FIT** - 2+ years of accounting or finance experience in a freight brokerage or logistics environment - Direct experience working with factoring companies (TriumphPay, Denim, etc.) - Strong QuickBooks Online skills (or similar accounting software) - Experience supporting an entrepreneur or executive in a dynamic setting - Hyper-organized, systems-oriented, and detail-obsessed - Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English required) - Strong follow-through, time management, and personal accountability - Comfortable working remotely with discipline and a strong internet connection **BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE** - Experience using ClickUp, Slack, MyCarrierTMS, or HubTran - Familiarity with freight documentation and claim processes - Based in CST or EST time zones (or overlapping hours) **ABOUT BUTTER FREIGHT** We’re not your average freight brokerage.
