The Financial Planning & Analysis function manages all aspects of management reporting encompassing budgeting and forecasting, strategic and customer planning. This includes the management and execution of the corporate reporting and planning requirements. Role: - Supports a specific targeted area with financial and budget-related needs; conducts financial analysis for group/business unit leadership. - Partners with the Engineering business to support objective delivery by providing relevant financial analytics, regular reporting, and business insights to key stakeholders, while developing robust tracking mechanisms. - Applies strategic understanding of business dynamics and competitive forces in different markets to provide insights that aid the business in making financially sound decisions. - Escalates analysis and findings where applicable to Finance and Business leadership where course correction is required to deliver against financial plans and objectives. - Assists with strategy and process improvements to ensure alignment with Engineering objectives; proactively identifies ways to improve processes and executes agreed-upon improvements. FP&A; Responsibilities: - Performs the annual target and budget process by issuing guidelines, analyzing performance, producing key management reports, consolidating information, and tracking changes. - Drives the financial planning and reporting needs, e.g., ownership of the development of Budget, Forecasts, O&Rs;, and strategic plans. - Owns the monthly close process, delivering analysis of variances against budget, forecasts, prior year actuals, key business drivers, and initiatives. Reviews and provides thoughtful business-driven commentary to management teams. - Designs and executes financial process improvements by building and maintaining financial tools for analysis and modeling. - Investigates and creates opportunities for automation and more efficient methods of insightful analysis creation and delivery, anticipating internal customer and stakeholder needs. - Responds promptly to ad-hoc requests for information and analysis. All about you: - Relevant qualification in business, accounting, and/or finance preferred. - Experience operating in a diverse, multi-functional accounting and/or finance group. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team; proactive and deadline-oriented. - Experience building internal and external business partnerships; develops and leverages key relationships. - Exposure to supporting a designated business area on risk and opportunity considerations, leveraging analytical techniques and outside trends. - Experience reviewing and analyzing financial and operational modeling to support moderate-to-complex projects. - Experienced with financial systems and applications (e.g., Hyperion, Oracle). - Experience in process improvement activities; recommends procedures enhancements. - Successfully resolves complex issues efficiently.
