Whats unique about this job (What you’ll do) The Data Developer at PriceSmart will be responsible for assisting in the development, maintenance, and optimization of data pipelines and infrastructure within our organization. Working closely with the data management team, you will contribute to building scalable data solutions that support various business needs, including analytics, reporting, and machine learning initiatives. This role offers an opportunity to learn and grow in a dynamic environment while gaining hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies. Responsibilities: Assist in designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines and ETL processes to ingest, transform, and load data from various sources into our data warehouse. Collaborate with data developers and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Support data infrastructure operations, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning to ensure reliability, availability, and scalability of systems. Contribute to the implementation of data governance and security best practices to safeguard sensitive data. Assist in the development and maintenance of data models and schemas to support analytics and reporting needs. Participate in code reviews, documentation, and knowledge-sharing sessions to promote best practices and continuous improvement. Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends in data engineering and apply them to enhance existing processes and solutions. Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, and software engineers, to deliver integrated data solutions that drive business outcomes. Bring your passion and expertise (Who you are) Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Solid understanding of database concepts, SQL, and data modeling principles. Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, SQL. Experience with data integration tools and technologies. Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and their data services. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and adapt to changing priorities. Prior experience or coursework in data engineering or related fields is a plus. Knowledge of data architecture, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts. Industry-specific expertise relevant to the company's domain. Certifications in data analysis, data science, or related fields. Good knowledge in R is a plus.
