As a Regulatory & Compliance Consultant,you will play a strategic role in managing regulatoryrelationships, ensuring adherence to compliance obligations, andacting as a key advisor to internal and external stakeholders. RolePurpose Ensure full compliance with legal, regulatory, andcorporate governance requirements across South America,safeguarding Munich Re’s operations by proactively managingregulatory relationships, ensuring timely responses to regulatoryrequests, and mitigating risks while maintaining strong stakeholderengagement. Key Responsibilities - Regulatory Compliance &Corporate; Governance - Ensure Munich Re’s reinsurance operationsremain compliant across Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia,Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, and Venezuela. - Maintain directinteraction with regulatory authorities, acting as the key point ofcontact for compliance-related inquiries and regulatory audits. -Manage regulatory filings, licensing renewals, and required reportswithin strict deadlines. - Oversee legal representatives and powerof attorneys to ensure compliance with local regulatoryobligations. - Stay ahead of regulatory changes, assessing theirimpact on business operations and advising on necessaryadjustments. - Risk Management & Audit Coordination - Developand implement risk mitigation strategies, ensuring timelyidentification and resolution of compliance risks. - Lead internaland external audit processes, ensuring timely coordination betweenlegal, tax, and compliance teams. - Monitor audit findings, proposecorrective actions, and manage deadlines to ensure compliance withregulatory expectations. - Serve as the main liaison with theRegional Compliance Manager and other internal risk and governancefunctions. - Compliance & Ethical Standards - Actively managerelationships with key internal and external stakeholders,including regulatory bodies, auditors, and legal advisors. - Leadthe implementation of corporate compliance frameworks, ensuringalignment with local and global regulations. - Promote a strongcorporate compliance culture by developing and leading trainingprograms for internal teams. - Ensure timely completion ofcompliance self-assessments, regulatory reporting, and adherence tocorporate compliance plans. - Tax & Financial Compliance -Monitor changes in tax regulations and provide strategic guidanceto mitigate financial and reputational risks. - Ensure the properapplication of double taxation treaties and oversee tax recoveryprocesses. - Collaborate with the Group Tax team to align local taxcompliance with global initiatives. - Legal & ContractualAdvisory - Assess legal risks associated with contracts,partnerships, and regulatory obligations. - Provide expert legalguidance on supplier agreements, NDAs, and regulatory reportingrequirements. - Engage with external legal advisors when necessaryand ensure all contractual obligations are met in accordance withinternal policies. - Data Protection & Privacy Compliance - Actas the key advisor on data protection and privacy compliance,ensuring adherence to local laws and corporate policies. - Workclosely with the Regional Data Protection Expert (DPE) to handlecompliance-related incidents and regulatory reporting. - Ensureproactive risk management regarding data protection issues,advising business units on compliance best practices. RequiredQualifications & Skills - Education: Bachelor’s degree in Law,Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. - Experience: - 5+ years of proven experience managing regulatory relationshipsand compliance matters. - Experience working directly withregulators, government agencies, or industry associations. - Strongknowledge of regulatory frameworks, governance policies, taxregulations, and financial compliance. - Experience in theinsurance, reinsurance, financial, or multinational sectors ishighly preferred. - Essential Skills & Competencies: - Deepunderstanding of regulatory requirements in South American markets. - Strong stakeholder management skills, including engagement withsenior leadership, regulatory authorities, and external advisors. -Ability to manage strict deadlines and handle unforeseen regulatorychallenges. - Strong problem-solving skills and ability to navigatecomplex regulatory environments. - Proactive and adaptable, withthe ability to anticipate risks and implement mitigationstrategies. - Tools & Systems: Proficiency in Microsoft Office365, SharePoint, Power BI, and Adobe Sign. - Language Skills:Fluent in Spanish and English (Intermediate-Advanced levelrequired).
