The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with Juniper EX and QFX series switches, a strong command of Layer 2/3 networking concepts, and a track record of designing, implementing, and supporting scalable, high-performance switching environments. This role is critical to ensuring network reliability, low latency, and secure connectivity across our infrastructure. What you will do: Design, deploy, and maintain Juniper-based switching infrastructure across campus and data center networks. Configure and manage EX and QFX series switches, including virtual chassis, EVPN-VXLAN, and multi-chassis link aggregation (MC-LAG). Implement Layer 2/3 network designs including VLANs, STP, OSPF, BGP, and IP fabric topologies. Perform network segmentation, access control, and security hardening in line with enterprise standards. Troubleshoot complex network issues across switching, routing, and Layer 2/3 boundaries. Collaborate with architecture, security, and operations teams to optimize network performance and reliability. Develop and maintain detailed documentation including diagrams, configuration standards, and operational procedures. Monitor and analyze network performance, proactively identifying areas for improvement or automation. What you bring: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related technical field. 4+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise switching environments using Juniper platforms. Strong understanding of Ethernet, IP, and Layer 2/3 protocols including STP, RSTP, LLDP, OSPF, BGP, and MPLS. Deep knowledge of Junos OS, including configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting best practices. Experience with QFX and EX switch series, EVPN-VXLAN overlays, and spine-leaf architectures. Familiarity with network monitoring and configuration management tools. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage and prioritize tasks independently. Nice if you have: Juniper certifications such as JNCIS-ENT, JNCIP-ENT, or JNCIE-ENT. Experience with automation and scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible) for network provisioning and audits. Knowledge of security principles related to network access control and segmentation. Exposure to SDN concepts and Juniper Apstra or Contrail.
