The Impact of a Sr. DevOps Engineer, Observability to Coupa: Joining as a Sr. DevOps Engineer on the Observability team offers the opportunity to make a significant impact in a high-growth company. You will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and maintaining our observability strategy, ensuring deep insights into system and application performance, health, and behavior. Your expertise will help build and improve monitoring, logging, and tracing solutions, enabling proactive issue resolution, performance optimization, and seamless user experiences. What You’ll Do: Support the implementation and migration to a consolidated observability platform for a large-scale public cloud environment, focusing on metrics, logs, and transaction tracing. Collaborate across teams to instrument system, application, and business KPI monitoring, create custom dashboards, and set alerts. Onboard complex data sources to our Observability tools. Ensure alerts are understandable, actionable, and enriched. Create and publish standards and best practices for monitoring and alerting. What You Will Bring to Coupa: 5+ years in DevOps or related roles, with a focus on observability and large-scale web operations. Proficiency in programming languages such as Ruby, Go, Java, or Python, and experience with observability tools like New Relic, Prometheus, Grafana, Elasticsearch, Datadog. 2+ years of experience with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure, including building and managing full-stack cloud applications. Expertise in creating dashboards, health/performance reports, and alerts.
