GateSource HR is partnering with a leading international organization in the manufacturing sector to recruit a seasoned Financial Director to be based in Cartagena, Colombia. This role offers an exceptional opportunity for an experienced finance leader to take on a strategic position, overseeing all financial, administrative, and compliance functions within a dynamic and growth-focused business environment. About the Role As the Financial Director, you will be responsible for leading the organization’s financial operations and administrative functions. Your primary mission is to ensure sound financial planning, compliance with international accounting standards, and effective management of financial resources. You will play a key role in supporting strategic business decisions and ensuring that internal controls, reporting, and governance are aligned with corporate goals. Key Responsibilities Lead the preparation and management of the company’s annual operating and capital budgets. Provide strategic financial insights and support to the executive team, contributing to the development and monitoring of business KPIs. Prepare high-level reports and financial documentation for the Board of Directors. Ensure accurate, timely financial reporting aligned with local regulations and US GAAP/IFRS standards. Oversee internal and external audits, and ensure adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements. Manage daily accounting functions, including payroll, procurement, VAT, and import-related financial activities. Monitor and forecast cash flow, manage credit lines and foreign currency operations. Lead the Credit Committee and oversee credit risk assessment and collections management. Supervise compliance with IT protocols related to finance systems, including data backups and reporting tools. Coordinate tax planning and ensure compliance with applicable tax laws and strategies. Act as the primary point of contact for financial institutions and global headquarters. Review and approve expenditures and purchasing decisions, while maintaining documentation integrity. Play an active role in corporate planning, presenting financial projections for operational decisions. Promote compliance with occupational health and safety procedures and engage in relevant initiatives. Requirements Qualifications & Skills At least 10 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance leadership. Professional designation such as CPA, Chartered Accountant, or equivalent. Experience working in or with international audit firms (Big 4 preferred). Solid track record of managing diverse finance teams and multi-functional departments. Strong command of financial standards, including IFRS and/or US GAAP. Proficiency in financial systems and implementing digital finance tools. Familiarity with FX transactions and financial risk management strategies. Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
