This role involves developing strong business relationships with key stakeholders such as pharmaceutical executives, production managers, process engineers, scientists, and purchasing teams in a consultative sales capacity. The RSM will identify and qualify leads, pursue opportunities, and gather market intelligence while managing the flow of pre-sale information between GEA North America, GEA’s Core Technology Centers in Europe, and customers. Acting as the customer advocate within GEA, the RSM ensures a balance between customer needs and GEA’s order intake and profitability objectives. Key Responsibilities: Identify and engage new and existing customers through online and in-person visits. Understand customer needs and present relevant GEA solutions. Develop technical knowledge of GEA’s pharmaceutical technologies, including granulation, compression, continuous OSD, spray drying, lyophilization, and liquid processing. Manage the full sales cycle from inquiry to order placement. Collaborate with service and spare parts teams to ensure customer satisfaction. Gather market intelligence on competition, pricing, and projects. Attend trade shows, industry meetings, and professional networking events. Negotiate contracts, payment terms, and conditions of sale. Maintain accurate records in SAP C4C CRM. Requirements: Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Travel: 40-60% within the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico; occasional international travel. Valid Passport & Driver’s License: Required for travel. Background Checks & Drug Screening: Must meet company requirements. Your Profile / Qualifications Profile And Qualifications ​​Education: Four-year degree in chemical or mechanical engineering or a related technical field. Experience: Five years (preferred) in capital equipment sales or business development, ideally in the pharmaceutical or process industry. Sales Skills: Strong planning, forecasting, negotiation, and presentation abilities. Technical Communication: Ability to understand and effectively convey technical information in English, both written and verbal. Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with pharmaceutical processing equipment, FDA regulations, and standards such as cGMP, ISPE, and USP. Work Style: Self-motivated team player with strong interpersonal skills, able to work independently and collaboratively. Detail Orientation: Proven ability to provide timely and accurate feedback to internal and external customers. Technical Proficiency: Skilled in MS Office with experience in CRM software (SAP CRM preferred). The typical base pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $100,000 - $130,000 per year. GEA Group has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States. The pay range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. The estimated range is the budgeted amount for the position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.
