**Job role and responsibilities**: Inchcape is looking for a data scientist with business acumen and an analytical mind that can interpret our clients’ raw data and extract insights. You will use your expert problem-solving skills to find patterns, identify hypothesis and develop solutions to help our organization grow and compete. - Deploy data science models in Azure - Work independently to design and code end-to-end solutions in-line with business requirements - Use statistical and analytical methods plus AI tools to automate specific processes and develop smart solutions to business challenges - Interrogate data to identify hypothesis and insights - Present results in a clear and interesting way to stakeholders - Enhance data collection procedures to include all relevant information - Process, cleanse and validate the integrity of data to be used for analysis - Analyze and connect a variety of data sources to find patterns and hypothesis - Propose and select the most suitable technology for a given data science use case, e.g., choosing between a range of different models/services **Skills and experience required**: - **Microsoft Azure** - Familiarity with respective cloud-based tools and services and how they can be applied for machine learning and data analytics - **Programming Skills** - Knowledge of one or more statistical programming languages like R, Python, and database query languages like SQL, Hive, Pig is desirable - **Statistics **- Good applied statistical skills, including knowledge of statistical tests, distributions, regression, maximum likelihood estimators, etc. Proficiency in statistics is essential for data-driven companies - **Visualization **- Experience with a modern visualization tool such as PowerBI, TableAU or Domo - **Strong Math Skills** (Multivariable Calculus and Linear Algebra) - understanding the fundamentals of Multivariable Calculus and Linear Algebra is important as they form the basis of a lot of predictive performance or algorithm optimization techniques - **Data Wrangling** - proficiency in handling imperfections in data is an important aspect of a data scientist job description Nice to Have - **Programming Skills** - Familiarity with Scala, Java, or C++is an added advantage - **Machine Learning**- good knowledge of machine learning methods like k-Nearest Neighbors, Naive Bayes, SVM, Decision Forests - **Self Service Analytic Tools** - Experience with self-service data analysis/science tool Alteryx to help put analytics in the hands of the business is desirable - **Excellent Communication Skills** - You will need to describe findings to a technical and non-technical audience
