The LAR Finance Planning & Analysis Manager provides highly specialized services related to financial analysis and reporting, financial management and consolidation of data, reporting and management controls or similar financial activities for the Latin America Region. They are responsible for the management, maintenance and reporting of specific financial data related to the Regional Office and other Business Units, when required. They perform high level financial analysis, compares estimates to actual results, and recommends corrective action as appropriate, this includes leading the annual Budget and Quarterly Forecast processes, private awards management, monitoring and maintaining all financial information and processing of internal financial forms. The Manager provides highly specialized strategic and analytical frameworks to design, implement, and maintain models that create further efficiencies in data management and decision-making. The Manager also supports the Latin America´s Directors of Finance and Operations by providing services in one or more of the following functions: financial analysis and reporting; financial management; regional budget coordination, management controls and reporting; or similar financial activities, as required. The Manager has a high level of expertise in financial modeling and Excel. The position directs and maintains finance/planning activities in accordance with TNC policies and procedures and best practices in financial/organizational management. The LAR Finance Planning & Analysis Manager provides assistance and training/coaching to all levels of personnel in their specialty area. The Manager responds to complex employee/management questions and problems based on advanced knowledge of the subject area. This position may be involved in analysis and evaluation of special projects as requested. This position reports to the Director of Finance and Operations for Latin America Region Office and supervises a small team that gives support to the Latin America Region. The Manager will effectively collaborate across a complex, matrixed organization, engaging with stakeholders from the field to the executive level, during a period of strategic, operational, and cultural transformation. Financial Planning and Forecasting: Lead and support the quarterly forecasting, annual budgeting, and multi-year planning processes for the LAR Region to ensure accurate financial planning and resource allocation. Develop and maintain financial models to support budgeting and forecasting processes. Aggregate and synthesize budgets and forecasts to provide informed projections for LAR Management. Financial Analysis and Reporting: Provide timely and accurate financial reports, projections, models, and analysis to support strategic decision-making in the LAR Region, BUs and other areas such as Conservation or Development. Designs and leads the development, implementation and maintenance of the processes and models to enhance data management and decision-making. Monitor and track financial performance and metrics, analysing variances and providing insights. Prepare and present financial reports for specific needs such as Deficits Control or Unrestricted Uses and Sources, including variance analyses and trends, to regional leadership and other stakeholders. Ensures programmatic commitments, TNC guidelines and procedures, financial standards and legal requirements are met and managed for compliance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of financial reporting and forecasting activities. Act independently and exercise independent judgment to identify and solve complex financial problems; work checked through consultation and agreement with others rather than by directives of superiors. Works toward meeting the strategic priorities of the program by developing and coordinating tactics for approved plans and completing day-to-day tasks. Coordinates the gathering and delivering of information related to projects among other business units while working with a high degree of autonomy on coordinating information and providing information for the Regional Office team. Act independently within broad program goals across multiple development segments to prioritize tasks in the absence of specific instructions and exercise independent judgment to identify and solve problems. Handle multiple competing priorities and deadlines under pressure. Manages and coordinates projects with several variables, set realistic deadlines, manage a timeline, and ensure accountability. Reinforces consistency in the organization's policies and procedures and provides support related to relevant field. May participate in complex negotiations. Supervises staff and manages work of peers on departmental project teams. Financial responsibility includes working with sensitive confidential information. Manages ad-hoc projects and prepare analysis to address key financial issues. Provide oversight for key financial functions of the team, such as proposal budgeting. Willingness to travel domestically and/or internationally as needed Act as a liaison between cross functional departments, functions, and cultures. Work effectively in high-tension situations and maintain composure under pressure. Promote new ideas, efficiencies, improvements in assigned processes. Develop proposals and presentations as necessary. Cultivate a trusting, respectful, and psychologically safe environment. Demonstrate essential managerial skills, striving for improvement with a growth mindset. Hold themselves and others accountable for performance expectations. Provide support and direction to their staff by engaging in the Performance Partnership Process.
What You’ll Bring
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field and 5 years related experience or equivalent combination. Experience developing and implementing complex projects and strategic initiatives in an unstructured environment. Experience designing and implementing complex data management solutions in an unstructured environment. Advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel and building models with efficient high complexity formulas, queries and macros. Experience in manipulating, analyzing and interpreting data. Experience with relational databases. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS Multi-lingual skills and/or multi-cultural experience appreciated. Non-profit accounting experience preferred. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Knowledge of current trends in specific field. MBA, CPA and/or CIA may be preferred.
