Overview We are seeking a Senior Strategy &Market; Consultant for the Energy & Economic Insightsdepartment, within the Strategy & Market Analysis (SMA)organization. The Energy & Economic Insights department servesas the organization’s foremost expert in providing specializedstrategy and market analysis for the business. The Senior Strategy& Market Consultant will provide the highest level ofprofessional assistance, counsel, guidance, and training related tooversees department analysis / strategy products and providesanalysis of short-term and long-term highly complex issues andproblems that facilitates senior management and governmentaldecision making. Key Responsibilities - Develop and use energysupply and demand models and other statistical tools to performstudies and research work. - Represent SMA by delivering trainingseminars, and speaking at conferences. - Develop key performanceindicators (KPI’s) and metrics to measure and track performance. -Conduct data analysis and reporting to provide data-driveninsights, liaise with the SMA planning group and Energy &Economic; Analysis to develop Business Plans, and facilitatecross-functional collaboration and alignment on planninginitiatives tracking. - Analyze key engagement metrics, such asemployee satisfaction, turnover, and participation inorganizational initiatives. - Coordinate with all E&EIdepartments; to identify operational challenges, technologysolutions, and game-changing technologies that can result in valuecreation, improve efficiency, and generate revenue. - Facilitatecommunication within the department and with external stakeholders,including drafting and distributing emails, memos, and reports onbehalf of the VP. - Provide research and analysis support indeveloping business plans. Assist in gathering market data,conducting industry research, and compiling information needed forthe business plan. - Help in establishing and maintaining aperformance tracking process, which may involve developing trackingtemplates, setting up systems to collect and analyze performancedata, and generating reports on a regular basis. - Assist inmonitoring progress, identifying trends, and highlighting areas forimprovement. Minimum Requirements - Bachelor degree in Business and Management or Engineering. An advanced degree in Economics,Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or closely relatedspecialty is highly desirable. - Minimum 15 years professionalexperience gained in a combination of commercial and strategicroles. - Significant experience in oil & gas, preferably inrelevant departments of a major oil & gas company andsupplemented by consulting experience in the energy practice of amajor international consulting firm. - Solid experience withstatistical and financial analysis in an oil & gas and widerenergy industry context. - Demonstrable knowledge of petroleumeconomics, technology, and accounting. - Must be able tounderstand, interpret and communicate the rationale for corporatereporting requirements as related to business plans, manpowerbudgets, and capital and operating budgets to all levels ofmanagement. - Previously presented to Corporate Management and Board level, as well as across organizational levels and atexternal fora such as conferences, and must therefore be able toquickly build the trust and respect of Executive Committee members,senior management, and peers. - Prior experience working in aninternational setting, with a sound appreciation of working withmultinational teams.
