The Opportunity Somos is redefining how connectivity is delivered in Latin America. This role is not just optimization; it’s an opportunity to build a modern, data-driven supply chain operation from first principles that will support the connection of millions of homes across Latin America. As our first Director of Supply Chain Operations, you will design and run the engine that supports every city launch, every hardware release, and delights every customer. The frameworks you establish now will need to scale exponentially as our business grows, and you’ll have a seat at the strategy table, the freedom to excel, and the mandate to measure and automate relentlessly. What You’ll Do Set the roadmap – Translate commercial growth objectives into an integrated 24-month supply-and-capacity plan; lead the sales and operational planning cadence that synchronizes sales, network build, and manufacturing. Engineer resilience – Implement multi-region, multi-source strategies for optics, fiber, chipsets, plastics, and power components; partner with Product Design to ensure DFM/DFA informs every PCB and enclosure. Build data pipelines – Integrate network intelligence outputs with ERP systems to enable demand sensing, holistic forecasting, automated reorder triggers, and real-time field inventory visibility. Re-imagine warehousing – Redesign our distribution centers for kit-based picking, establish forward-stock locations in new markets, and optimize freight allocation across air, sea, and ground. Logistics & Fleet Management - Build and optimize a mixed fleet of owned and third-party vehicles (primarily vans + motos) to meet on-time-delivery, service-call, and fleet uptime and utilization SLAs. Negotiate freight and last-mile contracts, balancing cost and speed. Data driven management – Develop a reporting infrastructure to enable supply-chain performance reporting to leadership using data, not anecdotes to articulate risks, trade-offs, and improvement plans. Develop talent – Recruit, mentor, and scale a bilingual team of planners, buyers, and logistics specialists who excel in a builder-oriented culture. What You Bring 10+ years leading complex, global supply chains for electronics or telecom hardware, with responsibility for US $50 M+ annual spend. Demonstrated ability to design systems that scale 10× without proportional increases in headcount. Fluent in Spanish and English; adept at negotiating contracts and technical specifications in both languages. Proficiency with modern planning platforms (e.g., Odoo, NetSuite, SAP IBP) and sufficient SQL or Python to self-serve data. Depth in Lean / Six Sigma; APICS (CPIM/CSCP) or PMP certification welcomed.
