The General Ledger Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the company's general ledger accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with accounting principles and regulations. Key Responsibilities: Manage the general ledger team and related accounting processes, including month-end and year-end closing procedures. Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other relevant accounting standards. Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy. Coordinate and support external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations. Manage and mentor a team of accountants, providing guidance and training as needed. Reconcile complex accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. Prepare and analyze budget vs. actual reports, identifying and explaining variances. Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial information. Oversee fixed asset accounting, including depreciation calculations and asset tracking. Oversee intercompany transactions, including consolidation and eliminations. Manage the chart of accounts and ensure its accuracy and relevance. Assist in the implementation and maintenance of accounting software systems. Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support management decision-making. Stay current with changes in accounting regulations and best practices. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred. 7+ years of experience in accounting, with at least 3 years in a management role. Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong leadership and communication abilities. Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
