Remote Control System Engineer: Senior Level Leadingcompany specializing in the design of control solutions for thebuilding automation industry is seeking to fill the followingposition: Design Engineer_ Senior Level The Senior Design EngineerI, under administrative supervision, will be responsible for thedesign of custom, state of the art, electronic and DDC controlsystems that meet our clients' plans and specifications. Eachsolution will be implemented, on schedule, in a cost-effective andprofessional manner. The Senior Design Engineer will act as theprimary design engineer on projects and may lead project teamsconsisting of other Design Engineers. The Senior Control SystemEngineer will independently lead the design phase of the projectfrom inception to completion through interpretation ofspecifications, design engineering, selection of components, creation, and checking of drawings, and resolution of problems. Technical leader with a high degree of knowledge in the HVACcontrol design field and recognized expertise in the control theoryfor specific systems; problem-solving frequently requires analysisof unique issues/problems without precedent and/or structure. Maymanage projects that require formulating strategies andadministering policies, processes, and resources with a high degreeof autonomy. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Ensure thatthe project requirements and risks are understood by attendingsales turnover meetings to gain knowledge of the sales estimate andproject scope. - Analyzing project plans, specifications, salesestimates, and sales proposal. - Creating a list of projectengineering deliverables (submittals, workflow packages, etc). -Generating Request For Information (RFI) requests. - Ensure thatfinal product matches the design intent and clearly communicatesdesign and operation of system by creating controls drawingsutilizing AutoCAD software that include flow diagrams, sequences ofoperation, bills of material, network layouts, schedules andelectrical schematics as required. - Checking controls drawingscreated by other engineers for accuracy and compliance with projectscope and providing feedback. - Make final decisions regardinginstallation method and materials by selecting the appropriate mixof products and installation methods to provide the mostcost-effective solution that is compliant with the projectspecification, applicable codes and company standards. - Reviewingand approving the purchasing bill of materials for projects. -Select the proper control valves and actuators that will do thebest job of controlling the process by investigating theapplicability of different valve styles and sizes to a particularapplication, with preference to control valves manufactured byHoneywell. - Completing and submitting a comprehensive and accuratecontrol valve schedule in a timely manner. - Reviewing andapproving control valve schedules for purchase. - Design a stable, robust, implementable, scalable, and maximum performing BMScommunication network by determining network architecture, topologyand transmission media that is appropriate for the installation andconforms to the latest network standards and project specification. - Selecting network components (such as servers, switches, routers)that support operator workstations, DDC field panels, third-partyintegration devices connected via Lonworks, Ethernet, Modbus orBACnet communication protocols. - Producing network wiring diagramsand network addressing documents that provide a clear picture ofthe design in a timely manner. - Get approval from the customer orconsulting engineer on installation methodology and materials bypreparing submittal documents that demonstrate that the proposedmaterials, etc., are in compliance with the contract drawings andspecification. - Ensure successful procurement of electricalsubcontractors by preparing electrical sub-contractor buyoutdocuments that clearly define the electrical scope of work. -Working closely with the project manager. - Maintain relationshipand develop trust with internal and external customers bymaintaining commitments made to the customer, escalating morepressing customer issues as necessary to Department Manager, andcommunicating technical concepts/solutions in writing and verbally.
