Position Summary: The Structural Section Head is responsible for driving business development, ensuring the financial success of the department, and managing staff at the local level. This role requires a strong leader capable of coordinating strategic growth initiatives, managing financial resources, and serving as a technical resource for both project managers and technical staff. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Strategic Growth Coordination: - Collaborate with office managers and practice leaders to align on strategic growth plans. Market Presence & Business Development: - Establish and enhance the department's market presence through marketing efforts and business development initiatives. Financial Management: - Manage the department's budget and efficiently allocate resources. Proposal Production: - Lead and contribute to the creation of proposals to secure new business. Technical Expertise: - Serve as a technical resource for project managers and technical staff, providing guidance and support. Staffing and Human Resources: - Determine staffing needs, conduct interviews, and hire staff for the section. - Conduct performance reviews based on feedback from project managers. Leadership and Team Management: - Provide leadership and continuous performance management for team members, including setting goals, offering feedback, one-on-one meetings, and coaching to promote team development and growth. Required Experience: - Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited program. - Professional Engineer License. - 10+ years of experience in a specialized discipline. - Experience in project management and business development. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Preferred Experience: - Experience working with local clients at the county and state level. - Supervisory experience. Working Conditions: Work will primarily be conducted within a general office environment. While the work is generally sedentary, occasional standing and walking may be required. The office conditions are comfortable, with adequate lighting and temperature, free from hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. - A Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field from an accredited program. - Professional Engineer License. - 10+ years of experience in a specialized discipline. - Project management and business development experience. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office. #J-18808-Ljbffr
