Hi there! We are Scale Up and our client is lookingfor a Head of Operations! About the Company Our client is aninnovative operator of unattended retail stores in the UnitedStates. Based in Dallas, Texas, the company has a presence acrossmany geographies and is rapidly expanding. The company wasco-founded by: 1. A multi-time entrepreneur with multiplesuccessful startups and an exit to one of the 5 largest privateequity funds under his belt; 2. An investor with experience at atop US investment bank and multiple well-known middle marketprivate equity firms. About the Position Join our client's companyand play a pivotal leadership role in our rapid growth by ensuringseamless operations and successful new market launches. As ourDirector of Operations, you'll be at the forefront of empoweringour team, enhancing our systems, solving problems, and forging keystakeholder relationships. Your leadership will directly drive ourstrategic objectives, fostering excellence across our operations,which is critical to establishing as the leader in our sector. Reporting directly to the owners, you will maintain activecommunication, ensuring alignment and excellence in all we do. Responsibilities: 1. Team Management: - Oversee a team of 4-5internal operations staff and contractors. Provide regularfeedback, conduct one-on-ones, and foster team growth. 2. Operations Management: - Manage our Operations team to ensure thatour markets are well-stocked, beautiful, and performing (revenue +profit). - Actively monitor market problems (e.g. wi-fi outages,kiosk problems, equipment repairs, etc) and ensure that theOperations team quickly solves them. Intervene on higher-levelproblems or those without a clear SOP. - Ensure that our team isquickly communicating with our boots-on-the-ground team members andsupporting them as needed. - Identify areas of our operating systemthat are ripe for improvement and work with appropriate teammembers to implement new SOPs and SOP changes. 3. New MarketOpenings: - Onboard new properties and chase down answers to keyonboarding questions to keep our new openings schedule on track. -Ensure that we and our team are 100% ready for new market openings. - Be the point of contact for the installation team as questionsarise day of. 4. Client Success & Client Expansion: - Find waysto creatively increase revenue and profits. - Proactively ensurethat our client creates fantastic relationships with its clients(large property managers and owners). - Help expand into othertarget properties in the client portfolio. - Reply quickly andappropriately to any client inquiries or issues that they have. -Join business development meetings as the company’s operationsleader. 5. Merchandiser Success: - Screen and/or interviewpotential merchandisers. - Ensure satisfaction of merchandisersthrough frequent 1-on-1s. - Coach merchandisers to work faster andmore effectively. - Develop and maintain training materials formerchandisers. Qualifications, Skills and Key Competencies: -Experience: 5+ years in operations management, ideally in a startupor small business environment. Experience working with remote teamsacross multiple time zones and countries is a plus. - StartupMindset: Demonstrated ability to thrive in agile, fast-pacedenvironments where multitasking and problem-solving are key. Experience in large corporate settings is not ideal for this role. - Tech Savvy: Comfortable with technology, multiple tools andsystems, fast on computers, and adept at managing complexworkflows. - Proactive Problem Solver: Highly organized,detail-oriented, and capable of juggling multiple prioritiessimultaneously. - Strong sense of ownership and accountability — inour small company, you will be the decision-maker and directlyresponsible for outcomes. - High motivation and a commitment toworking hard.
