Bekaert (Euronext Brussels: BEKB) is a global company with more than 27 000 employees worldwide, headquarters in Belgium and € 5.9 billion in combined revenue in 2021. **Finance Manager - Temp assignment** Bogota, Colombia Be part of something bigger! **About the role** The key purpose of the role is to assist the Regional Financial Controller and operational finance staff in the Latam North region in the transition to and deployment of the new Finance Transformation Operating Model (FTOM) in a timely and consistent manner. It is a temporary assignment 6+ months. This position reports to the Head of Financial Services. **Your Impact as Finance Manager**: - Delivery support of region’s financial information covering controlling, accounting, treasury, reporting and control activities related to the Country’s financial statements across all relevant Business Units, - Establishment of robust and detailed documented procedures, consistent with the Finance Transformation Operating Model and group level policies, - Review and challenge of current ways of working of the Finance scope, propose recommendations and coordinate the implementation of agreed improvements, - Implementation of the relevant Finance system and process improvements. - Region Financials - Ensure for the given scope the accuracy of the region’s financial information covering profit & loss, balance sheet items, cashflow including budget and forecast information, - Support all related treasury activities in collaboration with the Center of Expertise e.g., the financial investments, liquidity, debts local bank relationship, the foreign exchange, - Design and implement a reliable process to manage the cash flow and financing planning activities, - Help in delivering the financial information to all stakeholders e.g., Corporate, Group, BU (Business Finance), local management, banks, - Support the implementation of the agreed FTOM roadmap to progressively migrate activities into the relevant GSSCN platform. - Compliance - Review and challenge of current ways of working related to controlling, accounting & treasury activities, - Propose recommendations and coordinate the implementation of agreed improvements, - Identify the risks and suggest resolution or mitigation actions (including and not exclusively sales recognition, inventory valuation, provisions ), - Ensure robust and detailed documentation is in place and all changes with the Standard Operating Procedures are validated and documented; when missing, ensure creation, - Ensure adherence within the country/region of all Company accounting policies & directives (Corporate GAAP and local GAAP) working closely with the Regional Finance Controller, - Ensure an adequate control environment exists to fully meet the local and Corporate/Group requirements, - Support periodic analytical review of BU legal entities (working with Group Finance) to ensure subsidiary ownership and comfort with numbers. - Stakeholder Management - Work with key stakeholders, - Ensure liaison in terms of communication and change Management to ensure minimum disruption to the business, the engagement and enablement of the Finance teams and the understanding of the new FTOM roles & responsibilities - Ensure the communication channels and related governance framework between Business Unit and Transformation Team are clearly understood and followed by all parties, - Ensure the Finance deliverables with the new operating model are understood by Key Stakeholders. - Process Excellence - Support the Finance team to ensure all process deliverables are met on time and consistently in coordination with other finance functional areas e.g. BUs and Centers of Expertise (Treasury, Credit Management...), - Drive the local implementation of system changes or new system implementations (automation ) that affect the treasury activities in the region, in compliance with Corporate Guidelines and in coordination with other finance areas and other functions such as IT, - Drive the local implementation of process standardization and improvements actions in relation to treasury activities in compliance with Corporate Guidelines and in coordination with other finance areas and other functions such as IT. **About You** **Essential skills & competences** - Qualified accountant (ACA, CPA, CIMA) with broad Finance experience - 10+ years post-qualification experience with a strong understanding of competencies and functional skills below - Accounting acumen and knowledge on accounting standards (IFRS, relevant/local GAAP) - Leadership qualities inspiring others, engaging and communicating with impact - Financial risk management - Process improvement (opex, capex, comex) - Analytical Thinking a
