We are looking for a Tax Specialist to assist with the management of taxes in Latin America. This role will be responsible for handling all tax-related matters, including tax accounting, compliance advisory work and ensuring that sales tax and withholding tax processes are followed. Key Responsibilities - Tax Accounting: Reconcile direct and indirect tax GL accounts on a monthly or quarterly basis, ensure accurate journal entries, and prepare current and deferred income tax provisions for the LatAm entities. - Tax Compliance: Develop in-house capabilities to complete and file direct and indirect tax returns in Colombia, gather information requested by outsourced accounting firms for Argentina, Chile, Mexico and Peru, review filings and calculate estimates of direct and indirect taxes. - Tax Advisory: Provide tax support to internal teams, brainstorm innovative ways to solve tax issues raised by clients, guide the Product Team through implementation of third-party tax information reporting regimes and identify opportunities for how Nuvei can integrate tax-related upgrades to its payment service offerings. We are seeking an experienced tax professional with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams, excellent communication skills and high level of personal interest in the FinTech, Financial Services and/or Technology industries. Requirements - A minimum of 6 to 8 years working in the Tax Service Line of a Big 4 accounting firm, a large law firm and/or the in-house Tax Department of a multi-national corporation. - Degree in Accounting, Finance, Law or related field. - Strong knowledge of Colombian tax law, regulations and compliance processes in either direct or indirect tax, with working-level knowledge of the other type of tax. - Exposure to the tax regimes and compliance processes in Argentina, Chile, Mexico and Peru is required. - Ability to speak Spanish and English is required.
