Check out our TNC Talent playlist on YouTube on Glassdoor. **YOUR POSITION WITH TNC**: The Regional Regenerative Agronomist supports the development and implementation of the Ecosystem-based Adaptation for Regenerative Ranching and Agriculture (EbA R2A) Regional Program and country projects in Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Argentina, Paraguay, providing agronomic knowledge and leadership in all 5 landscapes to harmonize a vision of EbA R2A across critical intervention areas. **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**: The Regional Regenerative Agronomist will be responsible for leading the viability analysis and design of EbA R2A based business models and providing technical advice on agronomic and regenerative agricultural related issues. They liaise with other TNC staff, notably field colleagues, as well as external actors as applicable, to help drive the implementation of the EbA R2A program and its’ associated country projects. Uses TNC code of conduct and competencies as a baseline to conduct their actions and be an example for others. **RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE**: - Lead the strategic planning for the EbA R2A based business models in the five target countries ensuring the alignment with Global and regional strategies and facilitating the communication between the regional, country and local levels - Lead and coordinate the viability analysis and design of EbA R2A based business models for the different value chains, considering farm productivity and climate risks - Lead and coordinate knowledge exchanges and peer-to-peer learning on extension services for EbA R2A across stakeholders in coordination with the country programs. - Supports and advises the establishment of demonstration farms/pilot areas for the implementation of EbA R2A practices in coordination with the country programs. - Supports and advises the development of capacity building material (guidance, training material, etc.) for farmers and policymakers to improve incomes, productivity, and social wellbeing. - Advises the development of regional assessment methodologies for environmental, social, and economic impacts of EbA R2A practices, including incomes, productivity, wellbeing and climate resilience. - Develops narratives, documents for semiannual report and coordinates with Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) specialist in progress reports. - Review technical deliverables for quality control and alignment to consultancy objectives. - Manages and maintains electronic shared files and folders in TNC internal file management system. - Perform duties under general supervision and established guidelines; - Make day-to-day decisions within the scope of work assignments and prioritize work independently; - Demonstrate sensitivity in handling confidential information; - Does not supervise any staff, but may supervise volunteers, interns, or temporary staff; - Be willing to travel, work overtime, and work evenings and weekends as needed; and - Work environment involves only infrequent exposure to disagreeable elements and minor physical exertion and/or strain **MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**: - Advanced Degree in Agronomy, Natural Resource Management or related field, and at least 5 years’ experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. - Experience leading or developing research methods and tools, particularly in conservation issues and related elements to agriculture and ranching practices. - Experience coordinating multiple projects. - Experience handling standard business communications. - Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS - 5-8 years’ experience in nature conservation and conservation agriculture practices or related fields or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This includes aspects of crop rotation and cover (service) crops, silvopastoral ranching, low carbon agriculture or any other discipline associated with nature-based solutions for agriculture. - Knowledge or experience in carbon market projects, specifically in soil carbon project development, analysis a
