Whats unique about this job (What you’ll do) The Business Analysts at PriceSmart are poised to play a pivotal role in shaping our data-driven decision-making processes and operational optimization. This position entails the utilization of advanced Business Intelligence (BI) tools, like DOMO and Power BI, to develop insightful reports and dynamic dashboards. These tools will provide actionable intelligence to various stakeholders across the company, enabling them to make informed decisions that drive strategic initiatives. The role demands a blend of technical expertise, encompassing strong SQL skills, proficiency in programming languages (such as Python or R), and a thorough understanding of ETL processes, alongside a deep understanding of business processes and analytics. Responsibilities: Develop and Maintain BI Solutions: Craft and sustain scalable, efficient reports and dashboards using BI tools like DOMO and Power BI, tailored to business needs and offering clear insights into performance metrics and trends. Data Management and Analysis: Employ robust SQL skills for querying, analyzing, and managing data across various sources, ensuring its integrity and accuracy through meticulous validation and cleaning processes. Programming and Automation: Develop and maintain scripts in Python, R, or other relevant programming languages to automate data processes, refine data models, and support analytical projects. ETL Process Development: Design, build, and manage ETL processes and pipelines, enhancing data flow and collection strategies to make data available and accessible for reporting and analysis. Business and Analytical Insight: Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical specifications, creating relevant and impactful data visualizations and reports. Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work closely with different departments to align BI solutions with organizational goals and strategies, providing training and support to enhance data literacy. Best Practices and Standards: Keep abreast of the latest trends and best practices in BI, data development, and analytics, implementing standards for data coding, reporting, and visualization to maintain high-quality data outputs. Problem-Solving and Innovation: Identify, analyze, and resolve data and performance issues within BI tools and reports, continuously seeking opportunities to improve processes and enhance data quality. Documentation and Compliance: Maintain comprehensive documentation for all data models, reports, and dashboards, ensuring compliance with data governance and security policies. Bring your passion and expertise (Who you are) Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Business Analytics, or a related field. Professional Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a data development, data management, or business analytics role. Demonstrated proficiency in Business Intelligence (BI) tools such as DOMO, Alteryx, IBM SPSS Modeler, and Power BI. Technical Skills: Advanced SQL skills with experience in writing complex queries and managing large datasets. Proficiency in Python or R for data manipulation and automation. Data Management Expertise: Experience in Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes. Deep understanding of data warehousing and data integration. Analytical and Business Acumen: Strong understanding of business and analytics. Ability to translate business needs into data-driven solutions. Proficiency in English and Spanish. Additional Preferred Experience: Experience working in an international company and comfortable in a diverse, global business environment. Previous experience in the retail sector, with an understanding of retail metrics and trends. Familiarity with machine learning principles, contributing to advanced analytics projects.
