Overview As a Senior Accountant - Income Tax, you will be primarily responsible for corporate income taxes for affiliates and subsidiaries and for meeting both internal and regulatory deadlines for income tax compliance and planning efforts. This position will also have responsibilities in international operations regarding income taxes and tax planning as required. Responsibilities 1. Analyzes and interprets information necessary to accurately report the company's tax position, ensuring adherence to relevant tax laws and regulations. 2. Liaises with local Certified Public Accountant firms to prepare timely and accurate tax filings for all entities, maintaining confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive information. 3. Displays ability to research tax law and rulings as necessary, staying up-to-date with changes in tax legislation and case law. 4. Ensures compliance with applicable jurisdictional regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures, promoting a culture of integrity and transparency within the organization. 5. Explores new ways to utilize technology to improve processes, resulting in gains in accuracy, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. 6. Maintains current knowledge of relationships between company accounting records and tax reporting requirements, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions. 7. Provides support for financial audits of entities, working collaboratively with auditors and other stakeholders to ensure smooth and efficient audit processes. 8. Works on tax audits and notices, utilizing analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve issues and mitigate risks. 9. Reconciles tax-related general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records. Requirements 1. 5+ years of tax experience, including working knowledge of tax law and codes, with a focus on corporate income taxes. 2. Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex tax concepts to various audiences. 3. Excellent interpersonal skills, including diplomacy, negotiating, reasoning, and problem solving, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. 4. Demonstrates strong analytical skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret business needs and develop effective solutions. 5. Demonstrated advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel to develop ad-hoc and standard reporting, with the ability to analyze large datasets and identify trends. 6. Professional command of the English language, both written and verbal, with excellent grammar, syntax, and punctuation. 7. Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field with an Accounting Certificate, with a strong foundation in financial principles and taxation. 8. CPA/SOCPA (active or in progress), with a demonstrated commitment to professional development and continuing education. Recommended Qualifications 1. Master's degree in taxation, with a focus on advanced tax topics and research methodologies. 2. Thorough knowledge and experience in international income tax laws, with the ability to advise on cross-border tax issues. 3. Knowledge of SAP or equivalent Enterprise Resource Planning software, with the ability to design and implement efficient tax processes. 4. Knowledge of common tax research software tools, with the ability to stay up-to-date with the latest research and analysis techniques.
