Job DescriptionAs a Senior Software Engineer (Backend), you’ll be part of a teamof smart, highly skilled technologists who are passionate aboutsupporting and progressing leading edge solutions to meet ourbusiness requirements. Right now our platform is based in Java/Kotlin, Python, and JavaScript (React), and we continue toadopt the best of breed in cloud-native, low-latency technologies. What You’ll Do -Start the day collaborating with your XFN team and Product Managerduring daily standups to discuss the current sprint and remove anyroadblocks. - Write Java, Kotlin, JavaScript or Python code (usingTDD) to add functionality to our platform. - Build out an eventdriven, microservices architecture using both serverlesstechnologies and RESTful, Spring Boot APIs (Java/Kotlin). - Work onour infrastructure as code framework, using AWS services such as Lambda, ECS, Fargate, Step Functions, SNS/SQS, and KinesisFirehose. - Model complex product data and work with multiple datastores, including MySQL, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB and Elasticsearch. -Pair with other engineers to provide highly valuable and innovativeproducts to our customers. - Author architecture decision recordsand participate in whiteboarding sessions to demonstrate continualimprovement of our engineering practices. - Meet weekly with yourmanager 1:1 to keep the lines of communication flowing and ensureyour performance and development is on track. - Host a Lunch-and-Learn or Engineering Learning Session to showcase a newtechnology. Qualifications - Minimum B.S. degree in ComputerScience, Computer Engineering or related field. - Strongfundamentals in back-end object-oriented programming, includingproficiency in Java or Kotlin. - Familiarity integrating RestfulAPIs and an understanding of microservices architecture. -Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases. - SoundSDLC skills, preferably with experience in an agile environment. -Excellent English communication skills, with the ability toeffectively interface across cross-functional technology teams andthe business. - 2 to 5 years of relevant software engineeringexperience.
