Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Data Policy and ML Governance Leader to join our Data Science team in the Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) region. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing, enforcing, and maintaining consistent end-to-end standards for model development and deployment as well as data policy. This role is critical for ensuring the responsible and compliant use of data throughout the entire lifecycle of data solutions and client model development with engagements. Key Responsibilities Oversee the entire lifecycle of data solutions, ensuring compliance with established Data policies and internal Model Risk Management Frameworks (from development to monitoring). Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish model governance goals and objectives. Monitor and enforce model governance policies, procedures, and performance metrics. Develop and deliver training programs on data policy and model risk management as part of the data steward responsibilities. Provide guidance and support to model owners and stakeholders across VCA. Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure model integrity and compliance. Partner with data scientists to drive compliance of Model Risk management governance, data assets, and policies. Connect policies to common data analytics performed by VCA and develop compliance checklists and toolkits within Data Science and Consulting teams across the Region. Manage model governance tools and technologies. Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in model governance. This is a hybrid position. Qualifications Basic Qualifications 8+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD), or 2 years with a PhD, or 11+ years of relevant work experience. Preferred Qualifications 9+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, 7+ years with an Advanced Degree, or 3+ years with a PhD. Technical Expertise 8+ years of experience with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field. Proven experience in model risk management. Experience overseeing the lifecycle of machine learning solutions, from data acquisition to deployment and monitoring. Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or SQL. Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and libraries. Leadership Competencies Excellent project management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to negotiate with cross-functional teams and drive strategic changes. Proven track record of managing and delivering complex projects. Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all organizational levels. Strong organizational skills and task prioritization abilities. Experience developing and implementing strategic initiatives. Ability to mentor and coach team members, fostering continuous improvement.
