Learn more about us here. **Job Description**: Job Summary Our Financial Reporting Analysts serve as vital members of our accounting and finance organization. The analyst team is comprised of individuals who have a proven track record of expanding their value-added impact far more broadly than a traditional accounting role would allow. They serve as the experts on the financial health and performance of the businesses managed locally and develop an in-depth knowledge of how Vitol operates those businesses. The team also interfaces directly with our transaction partners, external service providers, and auditors. As a group capable of providing meaningful analyses and detailed insight, they are called upon regularly to provide information used in senior regional decision-making processes. Specific Job Duties Include: - Regularly engaging in discussions with cross-functional teams to understand business processes and monitor/improve financial controls - Performing the accounting month-end close processes for Vitol companies located in Colombia. - Executing controls to ensure accurate and reasonable recognition and measurement of transactions: receivables, payables, general ledger, inventories, payments, exchange difference, etc. - Maintaining relationships with other Vitol’s offices around the world - Performing monthly/quarterly analyses to be reviewed for decision making - Contract reviews to identify accounting impacts, including purchase and sale agreements, service agreements, etc. - Supporting the annual internal and external audit for financial statements - Supporting Tax Authorities's requirements - Preparing annual and monthly financial statements - Prepare and submit reports to governmental entities: Tax Authorities, Superintendence, Ministries and other applicable. - Monitor and prepare cash forecast based on weekly needs - This is a full-time role and attendance is an essential function **Qualifications**: - CPA license is required - At least seven (7) years of financial reporting and/or accounting experience - Audit experience is strongly preferred - Exposure to the oil and gas industry is preferred, power business is a plus - English - speaking, reading, and writing above 80% Additional Information - Be curious, creative, and up for a challenge - Have a genuine desire to build relationships across a global business - Be comfortable undertaking new concepts and ideas associated with a fast-paced, dynamic business - Have strong quantitative, analytical, and critical thinking skills - Continually assess, challenge, and improve processes - Have a strong sense of accountability and ownership of key deliverables - Be an open communicator who is eager to share and receive information - Earn the trust of others by continuously demonstrating the ability to follow-through
