Role Description We are seeking a skilled professional to fill the role of Risk Associate. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing credit risk activities, providing integrated end-to-end credit underwriting, and consistently monitoring wholesale credit across the enterprise. The Credit Underwriting function is a first line of defense business line that provides credit analysis, underwriting, and first line of defense credit approval for periodic transaction reviews, as well as subsequent credit monitoring. The Risk Analysis team delivers best-in-class credit risk analysis, monitoring, and credit administration acting as a partner to Banking & International Risk and Corporate Banking. The Credit Risk Associate is responsible for owning a portfolio of institutional relationships, continuously monitoring them, and producing Annual Reviews, Quarterly Reviews, and supporting ad-hoc transactions and portfolio reviews. A deep understanding of credit risk, internal policies, and industry fundamentals is essential for this role. The successful candidate should have minimal supervision and be able to communicate effectively with partners. Key Responsibilities - Assess the credit and financial strength of clients by performing fundamental credit analysis using both quantitative and qualitative factors. - Complete Credit Approval Memos (CAMs) and Final Obligor Risk Ratings (FORR) based on independent assessment and judgment. - Continuously monitor covered portfolios, following industry trends and escalating potential credit issues. - Review and provide recommendations on risk ratings. - Partner with regional and industry stakeholders in implementing credit assessment and monitoring standards. Required Skills and Qualifications This role requires advanced knowledge of financial statements, GAAP accounting, and industry research capabilities. The successful candidate should demonstrate: - Well-developed analytical skills, including identifying root causes and trends. - Advanced knowledge of financial statements and GAAP accounting or similar governance. - Solid understanding of Credit Policy and procedures. - Leadership skills, including commitment to Citi and colleagues, reliability, and eagerness to do more. - Interpersonal skills, including building relationships and exerting influence with and without direct authority.
