In this vital role you will lead and drive employee relations strategy, ensuring operational excellence, adherence to Amgen's core values and HR principles and alignment with global policies and practices, while providing culturally and legally appropriate guidance and solutions. Staff Relations is a specialized Human Resources function that partners closely with regional HR Leaders, Business Managers, Compliance, Legal, other HR Centers of Excellence and team members to protect Amgen values, investigate potential violations of HR policies, provide practical advice and guidance on coaching staff and managers, and to advise on performance and behaviors management, discipline, involuntary terminations, and workplace accommodations. The Staff Relations Sr. Manager we seek is a leader with these qualifications: Basic Qualifications: Doctorate degree and 2 years of Staff Relations and/or HR Investigations experience Or Master's degree and 4 years of Staff Relations and/or HR Investigations experience Or Bachelor's degree and 6 years of Staff Relations and/or HR Investigations experience Preferred Qualifications: - Strong Human Resources experience with 6+ years of Employee Relations experience - Knowledge of employment law and Employee Relations practices in LATAM and the U.S. - Experience managing or mentoring HR professionals - Ability to establish and maintain strong partnerships with other HR and business functions - Experience conducting internal HR investigations and advising on performance management, discipline, and involuntary terminations of employment - Advanced proficiency in English and Spanish with excellent written and oral communication skills - Ability to learn and fairly apply company policy, investigation procedures, and regulatory guidelines within scope of duties - Experience working across different countries and cultures, with a commitment to educating oneself on cultural norms and varying laws - Strong judgment, discretion, and professionalism in handling complex and confidential matters. - Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, Teams/WebEx, Workday, and case management systems such as EthicsPoint.
