About The Role Reporting to the Portfolio Manager, this position will support the Property Managers as accounting support for the Howard Hughes Portfolio in Columbia, MD. Duties include managing and maintaining accounts receivable processes and month-end close procedures. Additionally, this position will be part of the Property Management team in Columbia and will assist with all portfolio-wide initiatives as required. Salary: $33-35 / hr plus bonus What You Will Do Assist with monthly financial reports, annual budgets, and other documents in accordance with company policy. Review variances with the Property Management Team. Support Property Manager with additional projects that support business growth. Engage with leasing activities to maximize value and support leasing efforts. Perform general administrative functions including phone management, filing, and mailings. Participate in the Month-End Close Process, including accruals, base rent reconciliation (Excel), and accounts receivable management (mail rent statements, tenant check deposits, manual and recurring billings, tenant follow-up on balances, liaising with accounting). Reconcile tenant ledgers and perform additional duties as required. About You Willingness to expand knowledge of all areas of Commercial Office Management. Knowledge of lease language and financial skills in forecasting and budgeting. Understanding of lease documents and managing to this. Focus on NOI, expense management, and sharing best practices. Strong communication and collaboration skills, self-motivated, and a team player. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, or Accounting preferred; 1-3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience, especially in Property Management.
