Overview As the Upgrades Team Leader for the Americas region, you will be responsible for overseeing a high-performing team focused on delivering timely and high-quality Version Upgrades, Builds, and Patch activities. This role requires a strategic mindset, strong leadership capabilities, and a commitment to continuous improvement. You will also play a key role in global collaboration, particularly with the Pune-based Upgrades team, to drive alignment and performance across regions. Responsibilities Leadership & Team Management - Manage the overall health, engagement, and productivity of the Americas Upgrades Team. - Lead recruitment, onboarding, and training initiatives to ensure team growth and readiness. - Coach, mentor, and develop team members to strengthen technical, functional, and leadership capabilities. - Directly oversee staffing and capacity planning across multiple upgrade workstreams in response to dynamic workloads. Strategic Planning & Execution - Translate organizational goals into actionable plans and priorities for the team. - Drive ownership and execution of the upgrade pipeline and roadmap, ensuring alignment with business objectives. - Collaborate with Sales, Services, and Solutions teams to plan and prioritize upgrades effectively, balancing customer and business needs. Performance & Metrics Ownership - Own and manage all upgrade-related metrics including actuals vs. targets, retrospectives, lookbacks, and stakeholder reporting. - Develop, track, and continuously improve key performance indicators (KPIs) for speed, quality, and efficiency. - Lead initiatives for data-driven decision-making across the team, building tools and dashboards where necessary. Process Optimization - Identify and remove common impediments to team performance, including process inefficiencies, tooling gaps, or communication blockers. - Investigate, propose, and implement process improvements that enhance delivery speed, consistency, and quality. - Champion best practices, templates, and standard operating procedures to ensure global standardization and repeatability. Cross-Functional & Global Collaboration - Act as a strategic partner to Products and Engineering to understand the implications of upcoming releases and prepare the team accordingly. - Work closely with Support to build functional domain expertise within the team. - Serve as the primary escalation point for internal and external stakeholders regarding upgrade-related concerns. - Foster close collaboration with the India Upgrades team and other cross-functional groups to ensure consistency, knowledge sharing, and process alignment across regions. Technical Oversight (Nice to have) - Provide hands-on technical leadership and guidance to resolve complex upgrade-related issues. - Promote the adoption of best practices, tools, and frameworks to enhance team efficiency and consistency in delivery. - And other duties as assigned.
