Job Title: Bilingual Paralegal (Litigation) Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bilingual Paralegal (English/Spanish) to join our law firm in the USA. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to attorneys by managing case files, conducting legal research, and assisting with client communication in both English and Spanish. This role requires strong organizational skills, familiarity with California's litigation law, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced legal environment. Responsibilities: Case Management: Assist attorneys in managing case files, including personal injury, employment disputes and workers' compensation claims. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of case activities, deadlines, and client communications. Legal Document Preparation: Draft, review, and edit legal documents such as pleadings, demand letters, contracts, discovery requests, motions, and more, related to personal injury, employment and workers' compensation cases. Ensure all documents comply with California legal standards and are filed in a timely manner. Client Communication: Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, providing updates and answering questions in both English and Spanish. Assist in conducting client interviews and gathering necessary documentation for case preparation. Legal Research: Conduct thorough legal research on personal injury, employment law and workers' compensation matters in California. Summarize findings and prepare reports to support attorneys in case strategy development. Document Management: Organize and maintain physical and digital case files, ensuring that all documents are accurately filed and accessible. Prepare and organize exhibits, evidence, and other materials for hearings, depositions, and trials. Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to attorneys, including managing calendars, scheduling meetings, and coordinating court appearances. Assist with timekeeping and billing tasks as needed. Translation & Bilingual Support: Translate legal documents from English to Spanish and vice versa as needed. Provide interpretation services during client meetings, depositions, and legal proceedings. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field, or paralegal certification from an accredited program. Minimum of 2 years of experience as a USA litigation paralegal, preferably in personal injury, employment or workers' compensation law in California. Fluency in both English and Spanish, with strong verbal and written communication skills in both languages. B2 level minimum requirement. Proficiency in legal research tools, case management software (e.g., Clio, MyCase), and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Strong knowledge of California's personal injury, employment and workers' compensation laws and procedures. Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. High degree of professionalism and discretion in handling sensitive legal matters. Attention to Detail: Ability to manage legal documents and case files with precision and accuracy. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, especially in both English and Spanish. Organizational Skills: Highly organized and capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve issues related to legal procedures, client needs, and document management.
