Job Description: * DUTIES AND **RESPONSIBILITIES** - Assist determining required maintenance, coordinate maintenance activities, and verify the work was completed correctly. Respond to unscheduled maintenance requirements as required. - Supervises technicians on rotations under the direction of the Deployment and Facilities Maintenance Manager. - Performs daily site inspections of facilities and equipment and conducts preventive repairs to ensure proper operation - Conducts scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance to facilities and systems as assigned - Constructs, maintains, disassembles, and prepares for shipping temporary base facilities and infrastructure - Provides written reports to supervisory personnel noting any problems that cannot be immediately remediated and recommends solutions - Provides administrative support related to technical duties - Complies with all Colombian and local environmental, safety and quality standards and regulations. - Performs recurring work as well as a wide variety of new projects and problem solving related to maintenance - Duties are widely varied and will range from relatively unskilled to highly skilled tasks - Most duties require use of numerous types of hand / power tools as well as the operation of heavy equipment. - Considerable initiative is required, as well as the ability to perform tasks with minimum supervision. - Performance of some duties will require certification/qualification in one or more areas as specified by established Colombian industry standards and labor laws. - Employees in permanent location positions will be required to care take those locations, ensure property is secured, and be responsible for property inventory management. - Must have to ability to work autonomously for extended periods of time **Job Requirements**: **MINIMUM **QUALIFICATIONS** **EDUCATION**: Technical certificate from a recognized Colombian secondary, post-secondary, or vocational school in the following specialties: Electrical Power, Air Conditioning, Power Generator and/ or Construction. Over 15 years of specialized area specific experience in the above fields, may in some highly applicable cases, be considered a potential substitute **LANGUAGE **LEVEL**: - Spanish level IV: Fluent - English level: Not English level is required **EXPERIENCE**: - Five years of experience conducting facilities maintenance - Broad experience in a variety of trades outside of their certified training field to include; power generators, welding, carpentry, masonry, metal work, water / sewer water treatment, plumbing, ground support equipment, grass cutting, painting, and/or general facilities maintenance. **SKILLS **IN**: - The care and use of shop tools and equipment utilized in carrying out assigned duties. - Dealing with people within the program, and ensuring customer satisfaction with work completed. - Prioritizing and working effectively in multiple tasks and projects in a high-stress environment. **ABILITY **TO**: - Considerable initiative is required, as well as the ability to perform tasks with minimum supervision. - Understand and follow oral and written instructions in the Spanish language. - Organize, analyze, schedule, and maintain accurate records of individual work performed. - Read and understand technical schematics and diagnostic tools. - Work cooperatively with other US Government and Colombian employees. - Productively work with little or no supervision. - Entails regular travel or residence to/at FOLs, often in austere, high-threat regions of the country, with limited medical and support facilities. - Employee must be able to lift and move objects normally not to exceed 50 pounds. - Employee must be able to work in [permit required] confined spaces and at altitudes that require fall protection. **TRAINING**: - Person should have previous training on duties, Courses and/or experience in one or more of the following areas Electrical power, air conditioning, welding, carpentry, masonry, metal work, water /sewer and water treatment, plumbing, IT / telecommunications, and facilities maintenance. - Equipment, and/or Facilities Maintenance. - Most duties require use of numerous types of hand / power tools as well as the operation of heavy equipment. - Must be certified to work at heights as defined by Colombian law. Valid Colombian Driver’s License required. - Performance of some duties will require certification/qualification in one or more areas as specified by established Colombian industry standards and labor laws. - Work is characterized by a broad scope of duties associated with facilities maintenance requiring certification/qualification in one or more of the following areas: Electrical power, air conditioning, welding, carpentry, masonry, metal work, water /sewer and water treatment, plumbing, IT / telecommunications, and facilities maintenance.
