About the team: About the role: A Sales Area Manager at Diageo is a role focused on leading and developing a sales team within a specific geographic area, ensuring the achievement of sales targets and driving business growth. This position involves managing and executing investment plans across various channels, as well as identifying and capitalizing on sales opportunities. Role Responsibilities: Sales Target Achievement:Responsible for meeting or exceeding sales volume, share, distribution, and rate of sale targets within their designated area. Team Leadership and Development:Leading and developing a team of sales representatives, providing coaching, training, and performance management. Channel Management:Overseeing the planning and execution of investment plans across all relevant sales channels (e.g., on-premise, off-premise, etc.). Relationship Building:Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders within the area. Market Analysis:Monitoring market trends, competitor activity, and sales performance to identify opportunities and challenges. Strategic Planning:Contributing to the development and implementation of sales strategies and plans for the area. Performance Reporting:Tracking and reporting on sales performance, providing regular updates to management. Innovation and Efficiency:Exploring new ways to optimize sales processes, leverage technology, and improve overall efficiency. Experience / skills required: Sales Experience: Significant experience in sales, ideally within the alcoholic beverage industry or a similar fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment. Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a sales team. Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for building relationships with customers and internal stakeholders. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills for interpreting sales data and market trends. Strategic Thinking: Ability to contribute to the development and implementation of sales strategies. Market Knowledge: Understanding of the local market dynamics and competitive landscape. Digital Literacy: Familiarity with digital tools and technologies used in sales and marketing.
