Job Title: Assistant General Counsel Location: Los Angeles, CA Salary Range: $80, - $145, Overview: The Assistant General Counsel will provide legal support for a variety of internal business groups within JM Eagle. This role will be a part of the corporate legal department and will collaborate with and support the company's management team and various functions across the organization. The ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctorate (.) degree, passed the California State Bar Examination, and at least two (2) years of prior work experience. Litigation support experience is preferred. Responsibilities: - Support the mission of the legal department at JM Eagle and associated companies - Manage various litigation cases - Review, negotiate, draft, and revise a variety of commercial contracts and real property transactions - Manage contract requests and conduct internal client interviews to understand issues and advise clients on best practices - Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal business groups requiring legal support - Keep the legal department staff informed of material developments and matters in a timely manner - Demonstrate leadership and team-working skills in a collaborative environment - Organize, direct, and provide legal support in specified areas under the direction of the General Counsel - Exercise discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality - Perform other job-related duties as assigned Qualifications: - Juris Doctorate (.) degree from an accredited law school - Passed the California State Bar Examination - At least two (2) years of prior work experience - Litigation support experience preferred - Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) - Ability to read and interpret legal documents and effectively present information to a wide range of audiences - Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to anticipate requirements and potential challenges - Ability to research and analyze legal information, including locating legal authority and comprehending regulations, statutes, and court decisions Physical Demands: - Use hands to handle, or feel, and talk or hear - Frequent sitting - Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds and rarely up to 25 pounds - Specific vision abilities required, including close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus Work Environment: - Quiet work environment - Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
