GC&E Federal is seeking an Outside Plant Technician to support our government Information Technology (IT) and Inside and Outside Plant programs with our client. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the operations and maintenance of the Telecommunications team at Fort Jackson, SC. Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions: Support Customer Service Telephone [Customer Service Representative Installation and Repair (CSR/I&R)] and OSP service requests, trouble tickets, PMCS of maintenance holes, telephone poles, and pedestals, along with other requirements. Create, validate, and update NIPRNET diagrams and cable pair/strand counts on cable plant drawings for leased and government-owned circuits. Plan and manage circuit installation and maintenance services for Army tenant activities. Install, de-install, maintain, repair, and test various communication cables, including coaxial, fiber optics, and copper/conventional cables, in aerial, underground, and buried configurations. Physical Requirements: Work predominantly outdoors. Ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and reach. Proficiency in speaking, writing, reading, and understanding English. May require extended computer use. Work in a fast-paced environment with potential interruptions. Visual acuity required. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
