ABOUT THE POSITION We are seeking a passionate and experienced Primary School Head of Section and PYP Coordinator to lead our Primary School team and oversee the implementation of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP). The successful candidate will demonstrate strong instructional leadership, a deep understanding of PYP philosophy and pedagogy, and the ability to foster a collaborative and inclusive school culture that supports student achievement and well-being. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Lead the strategic planning and day-to-day operations of the Primary School (Grades 2 to 5). Ensure high-quality teaching and learning across all subject areas within the PYP framework. Coordinate the implementation and ongoing development of the IB PYP, including curriculum alignment, unit planning, and assessment. Facilitate professional development and PYP training for teachers, fostering a culture of collaboration, inquiry, and continuous improvement. Guide and support teachers in curriculum planning, differentiation, student assessment, and classroom management. Promote student-centered learning, well-being, and inclusion. Serve as the primary liaison with IB for PYP matters, including authorizations, evaluations, and reporting. Build strong relationships with students, families, and staff to support a positive school climate. Monitor and evaluate teacher performance and provide coaching and feedback. Collaborate with the school leadership team to align the PYP with the MYP and DP programs, ensuring continuity and coherence across the continuum. Act as a liaison between school stakeholder groups, representing the institution in interactions with parents and ensuring effective communication. REQUIREMENTS MUST-HAVE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field. Post graduate degree in Educational Leadership or Curriculum preferred. Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in a primary or elementary school setting. Extensive knowledge of and experience with the IB PYP framework and philosophy . Proven ability to lead and manage instructional teams. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Proficiency in English at a minimum C1 level. Commitment to inclusive education and child-centered learning. DESIRED BUT NOT EXCLUDING REQUIREMENTS: IB PYP Coordination training. Most recent experience in an IB Continuum School. Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English. Experience in curriculum mapping and school improvement planning. Familiarity with STEM or interdisciplinary approaches to education.
