The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining local accounting, ensuring that principles and rules are followed, preparing financial statements and other reports for end-of-month closing, supporting other areas such as sales and logistics, applying internal control policies, and having a solid understanding of local tax, labor, and legal regulations. Key Responsibilities: Financial Reporting: Prepare and deliver all financial reports (month-end, quarter-end, year-end). Analyze monthly results vs. budget for all divisions. Oversee accounting books and liaise with tax advisors and internal finance teams. Ensure accuracy through reconciliation of all accounting entries. Reconcile all accounting movements to ensure that all entries are accurate. Tax Planning: Collaborate with tax consultants to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings. Work closely with external tax advisors to ensure that all rates and taxes are aligned, avoiding unnecessary expenses. Accounting: Manage accounting books and coordinate with bookkeepers and finance teams. Ensure accuracy of accounting and payroll data per policies. Investigate financial report deviations and implement controls. Handle accounts payable to suppliers and intercompany. Compliance: Act as the point of contact for internal and external auditors. Transfer Pricing: Ensure that transfer pricing complies with local requirements and advise the Transfer Pricing department if any actions or changes to the price list are necessary. Review transfer pricing in collaboration with the Transfer Pricing department. Foreign Currency Exchange: Monitor intercompany transaction controls based on market movements and fluctuations, aligned with closing and execution deadlines, to ensure the best exchange rates for the benefit of the company. Control and Risk Management: Analyze reports from the Risk department for submission to the insurance company AON, covering Cargo, Liability, Property, and Freight insurance. Assist the Risk department in ensuring that policies are in place and report any observed latent risks. Administration: Manage all administrative activities in SSAB Colombia, including payments to suppliers (utilities), social security payments, and outsourced services (e.g., lawyers, marketing, cleaning, warehouses, logistics, and intercompany). Logistics: Support the logistics department in SSAB Colombia and assist with customer service matters related to invoices, payment terms, transfer pricing, import/export, and general finance and administrative figures. Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Administration (preferred). Knowledge in: Accounting, Financial Statements, Legislation, Exchange, Import/Export, and Taxes. Proficiency in English. Strong oral and written communication skills. Advanced Excel skills. Knowledge of SAP and SAP B1.
