Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and strategic AJO Architect / Manager to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of customer journey orchestration using Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO) . This role sits at the intersection of marketing automation, data architecture, and real-time personalization, and is ideal for professionals who thrive in a cross-functional, data-driven environment. Your Impact
Journey Architecture & Strategy
Design and own the end-to-end customer journey strategy leveraging Adobe Journey Optimizer. Define cross-channel activation frameworks (email, push, in-app, web) based on behavioral triggers and business objectives. Lead discovery and roadmap planning for journey use cases, working closely with marketing, CRM, and product teams.
Adobe Platform Expertise
Architect scalable AJO solutions fully integrated with Adobe Experience Platform (AEP), Real-Time CDP, and Customer Journey Analytics (CJA). Oversee data ingestion, identity resolution, and segment activation flows to enable real-time targeting. Ensure governance, performance, and reusability of AJO assets (journeys, offers, decision rules).
Leadership & Collaboration
Manage or mentor a team of journey specialists, analysts, and/or marketing ops professionals. Partner with enterprise architects, data engineers, and campaign managers to ensure alignment with platform capabilities. Act as SME for AJO best practices, optimization opportunities, and testing strategies (A/B, holdouts, etc.).
Optimization & Innovation
Monitor journey performance and identify areas for improvement using CJA and other analytics tools. Champion experimentation and personalization through dynamic decisioning and real-time content. Stay up to date with Adobe product updates and Martech trends to drive innovation and scalability.
Qualifications
Your Skills and Experience
5+ years of experience in Martech, CRM, or digital marketing roles with a focus on journey orchestration. 2+ years of hands-on experience with Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO). Strong expertise in Adobe Experience Platform (AEP), Real-Time CDP, and segmentation frameworks. Proven experience with cross-channel activation and real-time personalization use cases. Familiarity with data schemas (XDM), identity resolution, and audience strategies. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and business teams. Experience with marketing compliance, consent management, and governance is a plus.
Set Yourself Apart With
Adobe Certifications (e.g., AJO Business Practitioner or Architect). Experience with complementary tools like Adobe Target, CJA, Braze, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, etc. Familiarity with REST APIs, webhooks, and integrations with external systems (e.g., CRMs, mobile apps). Background in testing strategy (A/B, multivariate) and lifecycle marketing optimization.
