Our Terracon office in Columbia, SC is currently seeking a Group Manager in the Environmental Department . The Group Manager will supervise or monitor all Site Investigation and Remediation projects in progress in the department to ensure work is executed on time, in accordance with client requirements, and within company policies, procedures, and standards. Responsibilities include supervising proposal and cost estimate preparations, overseeing daily operations including staff training, development, performance reviews, safety, quality, timely delivery, and policy adherence. The role also involves business development activities to identify, develop, win, and execute project opportunities, and maintain client relationships. Essential Roles and Responsibilities: Responsible for preparation of proposals and cost estimates. Support business and client development activities with the Department/Office manager. Develop and manage staffing plans, recruitment, selection, and onboarding with support from the Department/Office Manager. Prepare and execute annual business plans for the specialty service group. Oversee key group metrics such as revenue growth, staff chargeability, project billing, collections, and profitability. Understand project-related risks and be familiar with company risk policies. Lead safety efforts, promote pre-task planning, and ensure safety compliance. Monitor and promote quality standards and practices on projects. Ensure consistent quality standards on project and proposal delivery. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or Geology, with at least 5 years of related experience. Knowledge and experience with Federal and State Brownfield Programs and the SCDES SUPERB Program. Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history. Professional Engineer (PE), Professional Geologist (PG), or similar relevant professional certification in South Carolina.
