Whats unique about this job (What you’ll do) Partner with Buying team on assigned departments to ensure certificates of conformity are obtained in PriceSmart’s marketplace for products that require them. Responsibilities: Meet with the Buying team on a weekly basis to identify new items, explain certification requirements, process and timelines of completion, and request information and documentation needed. Analyze documentation received for decision making. Prepare and submit certification documentation packet to the corresponding authority, Certification Company or LT&C team responsible for applying for the certification in-country. Manage tracking reports of all documents and samples sent. Initiate certification renewal process for items confirmed by Buying Team, 3-6 months prior to expiration date depending on certification processing time. Keep up to date reports of ongoing certification processes and renewals per department to provide updated reports to Buyers, VP, Executives as needed. Generate weekly report of all certifications completed and enter information. Process approval requests for certification, testing and related expenses payments. Data Entry as needed. Bring your passion and expertise (Who you are) 3-5 years of experience in international trade or quality control for food items. Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Microbiology or Food Engineering. Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Office. Ability to travel internationally. Knowledge and experience with regulatory affairs/international trade. Motivated to learn international regulatory requirements for different product categories. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work with others in a team environment. Able to react and respond quickly in critical situations. Able to take direction and accomplish tasks with minimum supervision, accurately while meeting deadlines. Able to simultaneously complete multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Detail oriented and able to react and respond quickly in critical situations. Adaptable in a change-oriented environment. Proficiency in English and Spanish.
