Job Description You will be responsible for the support, maintenance and performance of the server hardware, operating systems and related software. Additionally, this role maintains standards around the server platform, monitoring services, and server management infrastructure. In this role, you also will be responsible for the implementation and support of the server technology roadmap. This position provides quality solutions, automation of the processes and ongoing operational support utilizing leading industry practices, procedures, and ITIL processes. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES General Collaborating with other global IT operational support groups, both locally and globally Maintaining awareness and commitment to employment and legislative responsibilities in relation to workplace safety, discrimination, HR policies, quality and the environment Specific Maintaining and developing standards, processes, policies and lifecycles as defined in O-I’s Server Management Program, aligning with industry leading practice Deployment and configuration management of the global server environment and associated infrastructure Supporting the implementation of the roadmap for O-I’s server technologies (in conjunction with IT Architecture team) Identifying solutions to improve the service delivery and operational aspects of server technology through simplification, automation of process and technology Supporting development and implementation functional and technical designs/plan for the deployment and delivery of IT solutions Researching emerging technologies and recommending those that clearly link to current and future business needs Supporting IT projects related to Server and related infrastructure services, as assigned SCOPE AND IMPACT This position is responsible for the operation and support of O-I’s server environment (Hardware, Software, Power Systems, Racks and Computer Room) Lifecycle management of the O-I server hardware and software delivery solutions Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience in information technology or related discipline 3 years of experience with managing server platforms infrastructure Microsoft certifications, such as MCSA, MCSD, MTA is an asset Other industry certifications in related infrastructure are desirable ITIL Foundations Certification is desirable Good knowledge of Microsoft infrastructure e.g. DHCP, DNS, AD, Print Services Experience in multiple infrastructure platforms (Windows, Networking, Linux/Unix, Storage, Data Backup) Good knowledge of operating System and Application virtualization technologies (e.g. VMWare, HyperV,Citrix) Experience in maintaining large-scale (200+ devices) server environments would be a significant asset Good knowledge of MS Active Directory and Windows services Good knowledge of operating system build automation and management technologies Scripting and command line skills. e.g. PowerShell Server and storage hardware and cabling knowledge would be an asset At least basic knowledge about clustering would be welcome Experience in effective communication with customers, employees and management Self-starter with strong collaboration and communication skills Must be able to effectively communicate in English – both written and verbal Please submit your resume in English.
