Job Description We are looking for a Manager-level Data Engineer to lead a high-impact project for a global hotel brand. This role is ideal for someone with a strong technical foundation, proven experience in cloud-based data architecture, and the leadership skills to guide a small team and manage complex client dynamics. You will work closely with business and technical stakeholders to ensure the successful design and implementation of robust, scalable data solutions. This position also requires a high degree of client engagement, strategic thinking, and the ability to navigate demanding expectations with professionalism and empathy. What is this position about? Lead and manage the design, development, and deployment of scalable data pipelines and architectures using SQL, Python, Snowflake, and cloud technologies. Design and implement solutions leveraging agent frameworks, GenAI, and chatbots for intelligent automation and user interaction. Oversee CI/CD pipelines and ensure smooth cloud deployment of data and AI-driven applications. Act as the primary technical contact for the client, proactively managing communications, timelines, and expectations. Mentor and support junior data engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, quality, and continuous improvement. Ensure data integrity, performance, and security across all stages of the data lifecycle. Contribute to architectural decisions and set standards for coding, testing, and deployment practices. Translate high-level business challenges into actionable data solutions. Qualifications Required Skills: 6+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering, with at least 1-2 years in a technical leadership or managerial role Proficiency with SQL, Python, and Snowflake Experience building and maintaining cloud-based data solutions (Azure preferred, AWS or GCP also considered) Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, especially in client-facing contexts Proven ability to lead and inspire a technical team in a fast-paced, high-demand environment Nice To Have Skills Experience with Azure Data Factory, Synapse, or related tools Exposure to SQL servier Background in the hospitality or travel industry Experience managing challenging or evolving client relationships with diplomacy Tools & Technologies SQL, Python, Snowflake Azure (preferred), AWS/GCP accepted CI/CD, Git, data orchestration tools Data modeling and ETL tools Additional Information Our Perks and Benefits: Learning Opportunities Certifications in AWS (we are AWS Partners), Databricks, and Snowflake.
