About the Role The Staff Accountant will support the CFO and Controller in managing financial records, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with tax and accounting regulations. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently to meet deadlines. The ideal candidate will have experience with financial reporting, tax filings, and accounting software, with a proactive approach to problem-solving. Responsibilities - Equity Accounting: Assist the CFO with accounting for equity transactions and maintaining the cap table. Experience with CARTA is a plus but not required. - Month-End Close & Reconciliations: Support the Controller in preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts, including: - Prepaid expenses - Prepaid rent and accrued rent - ASC842 leasing entries - Capitalization and amortization of technology costs - Balance sheet reconciliations (e.g., security deposits) - Tax Compliance: Assist the CFO with tax filings across various states and localities for the five entities. Prior experience is beneficial but not required. - Other Duties: Additional responsibilities may be assigned based on the staff accountant’s proficiency and development in the role. Requirements - Education & Experience: - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. - 3–5 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, or tax compliance. - Technical Skills: - General knowledge of accounting systems; Sage Intacct ERP experience is a plus. - Proficiency in Excel; experience with pivot tables is a plus. - Familiarity with BILL.com and RAMP is an advantage. - Soft Skills: - Strong organizational skills, patience, and determination to navigate tax agencies and reporting requirements. - Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines effectively.
