Title and Summary Manager, Data Engineering Job Title: Manager, Analytics, Data Engineering Job Family: Data Engineering The Open Banking Business Intelligence team is responsible for analytics, automation, and innovative development of analytics services to address the evolving performance needs of all Mastercard’s Open Banking customer segments. The OB BI team in P&E focuses on defining the strategic direction for metrics and key performance indicators to enable the successful implementation of our services with the end-customer. The team is responsible for overseeing all products/services across OB, driving quality and performance by democratizing access to data and analytics. The candidate for this position will focus on leading support for funnel analytics, UX metrics, and API data analysis to understand the journey of our OB consumers. Role We are looking for a leader who: Manages and mentors a team of analysts to analyze large volumes of transaction and product data to generate insights and actionable recommendations to drive business growth. Leads the team in scaling efforts by identifying data-driven opportunities and developing relevant supporting materials. Collects and synthesizes feedback from clients, development, product, and sales teams for new solutions or product enhancements. Applies knowledge of metrics, measurements, and benchmarking to complex solutions. Oversees data mining, model development, time series analysis, and forecasting. Creates highly predictive models using segmentation and regression techniques to improve operational performance, revenue, and quality. Ensures standardization of data-driven insights and advanced analytics solutions using tools such as Tableau, Alteryx, Snowflake, and MS Office suite. Develops effective relationships with global teams and business partners. Proactively seeks new knowledge and structures projects to facilitate the capture of intellectual capital with minimal oversight. All about You Extensive experience in the Payments/Financial Services Industry or deep knowledge in a consulting field. Proven experience in hands-on business analysis, modeling, segmentation, and data mining using large granular data sets. Strong skills in Tableau, Alteryx, Python, MS-Excel, and PowerPoint. Platforms/Environments: Snowflake, SQL, Tableau, Alteryx, Python. Experience working with data collection, standardization, summarization, initial observations, and identifying inconsistencies. Strong understanding of analytical methods and data visualization to support business decisions. Ability to understand complex operational systems and BI tools for delivering information products to a global user base. Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment both independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating solutions across business, analytical, and technical teams. The Manager, Data Engineering, will support Mastercard's Open Banking products through client data ingestion, processing, and coordination. Responsibilities include: Leading relationships with Mastercard Operations and Technology teams to facilitate analytics tasks and insights dissemination. Serving as an expert resource on Mastercard’s Data Warehouse, data compliance, source control, validation, and testing. Developing scalable, automated code for client data processing to ensure near real-time data availability. Leading automation initiatives to optimize and routinize data tasks. Applying strong communication, project management, and reliability skills to meet timelines and clarify requests. Mentoring junior team members on career development, skill enhancement, and team contributions. Fostering a high-performance, collaborative work environment. Complying with Mastercard’s policies and external regulations. Minimum job requirements: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, operations research, or related quantitative field; Master’s preferred. Excellent English communication skills. Hands-on experience with RDBMS technologies like Snowflake, Databricks, SQL Server, SSIS, and .NET. Proficiency with scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, Bash, etc. Leadership experience in global teams. Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
