Our professional servicesengagements will focus on customer solutions such as high volumemission critical OLTP/OLAP environments, batch data processing,designing and deploying future state petabyte-scale data warehouseservice and building and/or designing reference configurations toenable our customers and influence AWS RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB andRedshift adoption. The databases team provides direct to customer,back office and packaged delivery consulting services to customersremotely from a centralized location. Our consultants are buildersand deliver projects, technical workshops, and lead implementationprojects with customers around the globe. These professionalservices engagements focus on customer solutions such as webapplications, enterprise applications, high performance computing,batch processing, big data, archiving, disaster recovery,migration, security risk and compliance. Key job responsibilities1. Employ customer facing skills to represent AWS well within thecustomer’s environment and drive discussions with senior personnelregarding trade-offs, standard methodologies, project managementand risk mitigation. 2. Work closely with AWS Platform ServiceEngineering and Architecture teams to help ensure the success ofproject consulting engagements with customers. 3. Work directlywith customers’ technical resources to devise and recommendsolutions based on the understood requirements. 4. Thinkstrategically about business, product, and technical challenges inan enterprise environment. 5. Analyze on-premises databaseenvironments such as Oracle, SQL Server, or other Commercial DBEngines to Open Source Engines like Aurora PostgreSQL/MySQL orRedShift, DynamoDB. 6. Work with customers to migrate theirdatabase environments to AWS. This may include, but is not limitedto Re-Host database platform on AWS, Upgrade/Optimize for AWS,Re-Factor to open source database platform on AWS. 7. Consult foroptimal design of database environments, analyzing complexdistributed production deployments, and making recommendations tooptimize performance. 8. Knowledge of the primary AWS services (EC2, ELB,RDS, Route53 & S3). 2. Experience implementing AWS services ina variety of distributed computing environments. 3. Strongknowledge and experience on at least one commercial relationaldatabase (Oracle, SQL Server, IBM2), or open source database(MySQL, PostgreSQL, MariaDB). 4. Desire knowledge on non-relationaldatabases, like MongoDB, CouchDB, Redis. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS1. 5+ years of IT implementation experience. 2. Experience andtechnical expertise (design and implementation) in cloud computingtechnologies. 3. Experience leading the design, development anddeployment of business software at scale or recent hands-ontechnology infrastructure, network, compute, storage, andvirtualization experience.
