About You and this Role As a Senior Manager, Product Marketing, you will be a trusted advisor using market insights and understanding of product capabilities to recommend the most compelling buyer segments Liferay can successfully pursue, and the most effective way to communicate the value of Liferay’s products to those markets. In your very strategic role you’ll work cross-functionally to provide your insight into markets, use cases, and buyers to the product delivery, go-to-market, and customer experience functions in the company. Because Liferay is used by companies in a broad range of verticals, whose specific requirements often strongly influence software selection, you will play a key role in helping the organization efficiently address verticalization needs in our go-to-market execution. Finally, with a strategic transition to a SaaS delivery model underway, Liferay has evolved its pricing model to be consumption- and value-based. As part of the product marketing team, you will have an opportunity to directly impact future iterations of the pricing model to further align with market expectations. Key Objectives General Responsible for defining and driving the strategic direction for a portfolio of software products. Involves high-level strategic planning, cross-regional coordination, and working closely with senior executives to align marketing strategies with global business objectives. Define and implement long-term marketing strategies for software products, aligning with global corporate objectives and regional market needs. Led and mentored multiple product marketing teams, providing strategic direction and ensuring cohesive execution across regions. Partner with executive leadership to develop and drive marketing strategies that support overall business goals and product innovation. Oversee major global product launches and coordinate with regional marketing teams to ensure consistent messaging and successful execution. Conduct high-level market research and analysis to guide strategic decision-making and identify new opportunities. Drive cross-functional collaboration with product development, sales, and customer success teams to ensure a unified approach to product marketing. Market Research Conduct market research to gather insight about buyer needs, and the purchasing decision process for Liferay’s products within our ICP and target segments. Help define and update ICP and make target segment recommendations at the territory level. Assist in competitive analysis, including capabilities, value propositions, pricing, and GTM strategy. Assist with messaging to support our Partnership GTM motions, including Solution and Technology Partners. Help with research to identify new market segments, such as SMB or lower-cost geographies and buyer segments. Product Marketing Create product positioning, value propositions, and messaging that resonate with buyers. Create source product messaging used to create fundamental product marketing material, including capability fact sheets and website content. Create messaging that articulates what our buyers need the business use cases they’re solving, and how these map to our product’s capabilities. Support product launches by working with Sales, Enablement, Product Delivery, and other teams. Using all of the above, create and manage marketing materials such as brochures, datasheets, and presentations. Work closely with the Global Demand Gen team to effectively translate messaging into Global Campaigns executed by Corporate and Field Marketing teams Work with the SDR team to help translate messaging into forms that SDRs can use to support their inbound qualification and outbound prospecting motions. Solicit feedback from front-line teams, including SDRs, field marketing, and sales, to validate and evolve messaging for effectiveness. Pricing Evolve our current value and consumption-based pricing model to better align to market expectations and to help the company achieve its financial goals Craft clear and compelling support materials for pricing to help customers understand the model and the value of the product. Track and analyze pricing performance. Provide stakeholders with regular reports that highlight key metrics and offer insights to optimize pricing strategies. Required Qualifications Strong analytical skills and experience with product marketing for B2B software companies. 7+ years of Product Marketing experience. “Player coach”: the ability to help members of the team develop professionally by working alongside them on day-to-day projects. Precision in your written communication. The ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously while delivering on time and with high quality. Strong strategic vision, execution skills, and leadership.
