After an incredible chapter of growth, we’re super-charging our sales. In this new role, you’ll establish and lead our business development function, making it your own from the outset. You’ll partner with our marketing and leadership team to craft a winning outbound BD strategy, and make it happen. What you’ll bring We need a relationship builder with razor-sharp commercial instincts, and the ability to charm a CMO one minute and a CEO the next. You’ll thrive on challenge, think strategically, and execute brilliantly. Your role As ourBusiness Development Director, you’ll be the connection between what we do and the opportunities we can unlock. Reporting into our Co-CEO for Growth, you’ll work alongside our Marketing team, Managing Partners and Principals to win new prospects and clients. From curating prospect lists to closing major deals, every step will have your signature. You’ll identify opportunities, build relationships, take our offer to market, and show why partnering with us is a game-changer. What you’ll do Build and lead our new business function: take the reins and create a proactive, scalable strategy that drives measurable growth Own lead generation: use research, insights, and creative thinking to identify new opportunities that align with our expertise — across sectors like tech, finance, leisure, transport, education, health, STEM and more Develop tailored outreach and pitches that position Definition as the obvious partner for prospective clients Nail the pitch process: From initial meetings to full presentations, you’ll bring clarity, confidence, and creativity to every conversation Foster relationships: build trust with decision-makers, educate potential clients with thought leadership, and position us as their go-to partner Work across teams: work seamlessly with our Marketing, Creative, and Leadership teams to align efforts and amplify results Monitor and improve: track KPIs on lead gen, meetings, opportunities, and revenue —and refine your approach to make it even better Represent Definition: Go to industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to raise our profile and build connections KPIs: Number of meetings SQLs generated and converted Total value of generated opportunities Here’s what we’re looking for: Proven success in business development : you’ve smashed targets before and know how to do it again Marketing sector expertise: you have integrated agency experience, with a clear understanding of insights, brand strategy, PR, creative, social, digital marketing, video, UX, CX and IC A track record of winning big :six-figure deals will be in your win portfolio Sales strategy prowess :you know how to craft repeatable, scalable approaches to targeting, pitching, and closing new business Strong communication skills: you can convey ideas clearly and effectively through various formats, like email, presentations, or other creative content. We value diverse communication styles and encourage applications from people with different approaches Proficiency with sales tools: experience with HubSpot, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, or similar CRM platforms Relationship-building: you excel at building connections in ways that work best, whether through one-on-one interactions, virtual communication, or group settings.
