Externally, the GE team engages a wide range of stakeholders to raise awareness of and build support for policies that expand access to and usage of digital payments in Latin America and around the world. Internally, GE works closely with colleagues across the company including Global Policy, Regulatory Affairs, Legal, Risk, Communications, and Social Impact, as well as Sales, Marketing, Product, Business Solutions, Merchant Acquiring, and Visa Consulting & Analytics. **What a Senior Director/ Head of Policy and BPO does at Visa,** Across the Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) region, governments are intensifying their focus on fundamental areas of payments policy and regulation - such as pricing and interchange, local processing, national supervision, and competition - while at the same time they are expanding into new areas such as open data, artificial intelligence, real-time payments, digital currency, and sustainability/green finance, for example. To manage this increasing volume and complexity of issues requiring sustained expertise and attention, we are seeking a new leader for our LAC-Policy & Business Planning & Operations (BPO) team. Reporting directly to the Vice President (VP), Regional Head of Latin America and the Caribbean Government Engagement (LACGE), this role will help to set and guide all aspects of GE business planning and operations and drive alignment across local, regional, and global policy priorities. We are looking for a skilled business manager and payments policy expert who can partner closely with peers on the GE Team and colleagues in each of the markets to set clear goals and priorities, proactively shape the policy and regulatory environment, and help produce positive outcomes for the business. To be successful in the Head of Policy capacity, this leader should be familiar with regulatory processes in key LAC markets and capable of quickly reading, interpreting, and evaluating large amounts of policy material taken from official sources. They must be comfortable synthesizing and summarizing all of the available data to anticipate changes in the operating environment and advise Visa leaders of potential impacts on the business. To be successful in the Head of BPO capacity, this leader must be relentlessly focused on setting clear priorities and maintaining strong process discipline. It will be critical to collaborate and coordinate well with all colleagues and external partners at the local, regional, and global levels. **_ Major Responsibilities _** **_Policy _** - Deepen cross-functional coordination and provide direct input to enhance Visa thought leadership products and policy development on regulatory and other issues, working closely with Global Policy, Legal, Risk, and other business colleagues at the market, regional, and global levels. - Work with our teams in markets to provide advice on regulatory issues and advocacy support for new business initiatives and related policies. - Assist SVP in managing relationships with regional and global non-governmental organizations, industry associations, and policy research centers. - Assist SVP in coordinating regional and global advocacy efforts together with Visa colleagues in LAC markets, Washington, San Francisco, and around the world. - Serve as delegate for the SVP with internal and external partners in a range of settings. **_ Business Planning & Prioritisation _** - Assist SVP with all strategic planning, operations, and team meetings on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. - Assist SVP and GE market leads with prioritization and communication across functions and geographies. - Track and evaluate progress of annual goals and lead special projects. - Supervise and manage thoughtful preparation and on-time delivery of executive-quality briefing materials and correspondence.
