About the Role: The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in managing the financial and operational processes that keep our projects and business running smoothly. Supporting the Operations & Procurement Manager, this generalist role ensures accuracy and timeliness in contract booking, time and expense processing, vendor bill entry, and other core finance workflows. You will partner closely with procurement, design, and project management teams to ensure financial data integrity, streamline processes, and support decision-making with timely reporting. Key Responsibilities Process Contract Bookings in coordination with project teams. Serve as a finance liaison for ad hoc operational requests. Enter Estimates, Vendor Bills, Purchase Orders, and Work Orders into financial systems. Collaborate with procurement to ensure purchase documentation is complete and accurate. Process Time Sheets and Expense Reports & generate monthly Billing Statements. Maintain accuracy and organization of financial records in QuickBooks Online (QBO). Support month-end close and tax filing processes. Identify, recommend, and document process improvements for finance and operations workflows. Conduct cost analyses and budget-to‑actual variance reporting. Manage Work‑in‑Progress (WIP) reporting and revenue recognition via Percentage of Completion. Forecast revenue and cash flow needs for current and upcoming projects. Ensure compliance with GAAP, financial controls, and construction‑specific accounting standards. Support the Operations & Procurement Manager with data analysis and reporting. Partner with project managers to ensure timely, accurate billing and cost tracking. Ideal Candidate Profile Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field. 5-10 years of experience in finance, accounting, or business operations. Hands-on ownership of recurring accounting cycles (AP/AR, reconciliations, expense management) and support for month-end close. Required Skills Qualifications Fluent in spoken and written English. Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO), or similar, and Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets. Advanced spreadsheet skills (lookups, pivot tables, basic modeling). Solid understanding of GAAP and core accounting (AP/AR, reconciliations, expense tracking). Ability to manage multiple recurring processes, meet deadlines, and maintain data accuracy. Strong organizational skills with ability to maintain structured workflows. Effective communicator who can collaborate across teams. Comfortable operating as a senior individual contributor in a lean environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience in a design-build, construction, or furniture wholesaling environment. Familiarity with procurement processes and vendor management (PO lifecycle, vendor bills, change orders). Experience with project management or construction/ops systems (e.g., Procore, Asana, Monday). Exposure to project accounting concepts: job costing, work-in-progress (WIP) reporting, and percentage-of-completion revenue recognition. Experience creating SOPs and process documentation for finance and operations. Experience managing financial processes across multiple concurrent, small-to-mid-sized projects. Ability to prepare and interpret budget-to-actual reports and project cost analyses for management.
