Responsibilities: Oversee and manage the accounting registries to ensure accuracy and compliance with local regulations. Prepare and review statutory financial statements in accordance with Colombian accounting standards. Supervise corporate reporting processes to ensure timely and accurate submissions. Manage the preparation and filing of monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns, including VAT, income tax, municipal and other relevant taxes. Ensure compliance with all local tax laws and regulations. Provide guidance and support to clients on tax-related matters. Liaise with tax authorities and manage any tax audits or inquiries. Stay updated on changes in tax legislation and ensure the company and clients are compliant. Train and mentor junior staff on tax compliance and accounting practices. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in accounting. Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax compliance and accounting, preferably within a professional services firm. In-depth knowledge of Colombian tax laws and regulations. Strong understanding of Colombian accounting standards and financial reporting requirements. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in accounting software, preferably SAP B1, and Microsoft Office Suite Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. High attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Fluency in English and Spanish (mandatory). Specific Knowledge Required: Comprehensive understanding of Colombian tax legislation, including VAT, income tax, municipal taxes and other relevant taxes. Familiarity with statutory financial statement preparation and corporate reporting requirements in Colombia. Knowledge of tax audit processes and how to manage interactions with tax authorities. Proficiency in using accounting software and tools relevant to tax compliance.
