Role Description This is a full-time on-site Postdoctoral position at the Universidad de Córdoba (CO) in Montería, Colombia, focused on Generative Neural Networks and Microscopy, particularly birefringence tomographic microscopy of sea embryos. The project aims to create virtual pavilions for a virtual museum of the sea and the Sinú river, fostering optical technology development in tropical regions and collaboration with local fisherman cultures. Responsibilities include conducting research, publishing findings, presenting at conferences, and contributing to grant proposals. Qualifications Strong background in Generative Neural Networks and AI Experience with Microscopy and image analysis Proficiency in Python and relevant software Excellent research, analytical, and communication skills in English Ability to work independently and collaboratively PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Biomedical Sciences, or related fields Postdoctoral experience is a plus Optional: Expertise in photonics, especially polarized light microscopy and birefringence, is an asset.
